Got my notification for my interview on the 2nd of January finally!!! at the dreaded Lagos Embassy , but am lost for what the next step will be. Can anyone please tell me what i need to get ready for the interview cos i seem to have very limted time to get myself and 2 children ready. Are you a ir1/cr1 route? I ask this because based on your pd you should have been done long ago... Why has it taken this long if you would like to share? Just so that others could learn to avoid this kind of delay... Anyway for your interview you need to be confidence in your answers and be able to demonstrate through your response with the interview that you're having a genuine marriage... It is also important that you have every piece of documents required by the consulate readily at hand... You must change your belief that the consulate is dreadful now to avoid the forbia that will cause you uneasy on your interview... Pray and believe God will see you through... Congrats in advance!

OP is on the right track. His F2A PD will be current on the January 2013 Visa Bulletin, that's why he received his interview letter NOW.

well I got mine too..

pd august 24 2010 my interview was january 24 2013 the next step is prepare for the documents u need in the interview..

go to.. www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov under the "Prepare for your visa interview.. so goodluck to us..and to those who waiting..

oHH i forgot before u prepare in the interview schedule..u must prepare first to your medical examinations..2 weeks before the interview..

You can do your medical exam as soon as you received your Interview Letter. Better to do it at the earliest possible time.

You can read former reviews for F-2A visa's in Lagos, Nigeria here. This may give you more of a feel for what to expect, what you need to take and how to prepare. Sorry, I'm not very familiar with your type of visa, but I am familiar with the embassy. You should leave to get to the embassy approximately three to four hours in advance. Traffic is horrible and my husband was almost late for his interview. We left 2-1/2 hours before it was time to get there! I had to make him get out, take a bike and leave me behind just to get there on time. So set out early.

Once inside, do not fidget around. Sit still and be calm. Take snacks for your children as you will have a long wait inside as well. God bless your interview process..
