Hello VJ friends! ok i have an issue. my fiancee wants me to spend Christmas and new years with him and his family in Mexico because it will be the last Christmas he spends with them before we get approved. Next Christmas will be with my family here in the United States. My question is what do you guys think??? Should I spend my last "single" Christmas with my family meaning by next Christmas I will be married already and my parents want their "little" girl to spend Christmas here. or should I go visit my fiancee and his family since it will be his last Christmas with them? What would you do?

Agreed, spend it with your fiance. It might be a while until he can go visit back home again.

I say go to Mexico, bring some cousins with you.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Good decision. You can always remind your parents that while you may not be their 'single' little girl anymore, you will always be their little girl and nothing is ever going to change that, even a husband. One more Christmas together isn't going to make any difference to that but accepting your fiance's family's invitation will go a long way to setting you on a really good footing with your in-laws. They will remember that you cared enough about their son to give up something that was important to you for him. Enjoy your holidays. Is there a way for your parents to perhaps join you in Mexico for part of the holidays themselves?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

No its 4 of them and tickets are around 900 round trip per person. And my mom does not want to go by land, my dad doesn't mind but the road is pretty dangerous and she is a very nervous person.

A good thing to going down to Mexico would be seeing how his family celebrates Christmas.

This way you can mingle some of his family traditions into your Christmases in the US so he feels more at home. Including the food - you could talk to his mum and get copies of the recipes for his favourite dishes.

I say go, and bring some of your cousins.

Your cousins will make a report back to your Mom, so that's a good thing.
