I have been living in the USA since August 2012 and I am currently in the process of my AOS.

Yesterday I received my Temporary Work Authorisation for a period of 1 year and my Advanced Parole whilst my AOS is processed, only now I have to go about transforming my UK CV into a USA Resume. My only problem is that I do not know what the US equivalent is of my UK qualifications or how to go about getting an official conversion etc for applying for jobs etc.

My current qualifications are:

eNVQ Level 3 & 4 in Poicing

BTEC National Diploma in Sports Development and Fitness: Grade MERIT-MERIT-MERIT

1 A Level: General Studies (D)

3 AS Levels: Media Studies (B), Accountancy (D) & ICT (E)

11 GCSE's: 9 B's & 2 C's

if anyone can help it will be useful

A levels are comparable to a High School Diploma in the US. Resumes don't have grades on them, so it matters not what your grades were for GSCEs etc. We also have tests in high school and we don't put the results (though I do understand the purpose of these tests are different).

I had to search to see what NVQ and BTEC are - they look like Vocational qualifications? What is Poicing? Do you mean policing?

I would list the schools you went to in England instead of the levels and grades, they are mostly equivalent to high school. Then I would explain what your vocational training is. There might be a better solution on that.

Experience counts for a lot here though, so I would highlight your experience. Descriptions or "Vocational Training in UK" would be good on a resume. Any field requiring certification or a license would need to be redone (like a vocational license, if one is required to perform the trade).

What is your experience and what jobs are you looking to apply for?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
