Hi,

Yesterday on Nov 26 I had my interview in Mumbai Consulate at 7:30am for the CR1 visa interview. Everything was going well all of a sudden the Visa officer asks about Snaps and I showed her the album, she saw that and the Visa Officer left the place and had some discussion outside. In short I am telling that I had 1 hour and 45 min. interview by three separate visa officers starting with one blonde lady, then one Indian lady visa officer and one lady Caucasian in an interrogation room there and they grilled me left right and center. Then after that they issued me a 221(G) refusal letter stating that I need to submit photographs of the ongoing relationship, or transfer of property, joint bank account statements.

In this stage how much it will take to complete the process because I am half dead now. Waiting for the visa to see my husband. I am dying to meet him. Anyone has any idea? Please have some. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

The 221g they gave you was not a denial, be thankful for that. You need to snap out of whatever depression you are in and send the consulate what they request, they sooner you do, the sooner you will get your visa. At least you know what you need in order to receive your visa, most of us who are put into AP never know the reasons and we are just left to wait, never knowing when it will end. My husband had AP, we didn't know why, we just had to wait it out, consider yourself lucky. Sitting online feeling sorry for yourself won't get you anywhere. Get what they request, send it, and before you know it this too shall pass. Good luck.

No as far as I know, I didn't say anthing wrong, that blonde CO completely and carefully sees my 50 photographs and then she left the chair and went to someone (some other officer) and asked something and then came back and said " Somebody will attend you shortly".

Then I was taken to the interrogation room.

possible that she found something on your evidence and consulted somebody and made decision. collect documents again and you may include existing one as well. try opening a joint account.

i also opened a joint account first thing after marriage.

This is absurd. They just want to give people hard time. However, you should have been prepared already for this. I had provided my wife with telephone calls records (most recent) and all money transfer receipt just in case CO asks her for on-going relation proof but she was lucky they did not ask for any of this; but, you should always be prepared for the worst. Calls record and money tranbsfer receipt are the strongest evidence. Even though my wife doesn't need money i still sent her some from time to time so that we have a proof and call records were always looked up onto and we had daily call logs to show.

it isn't absurd, the consulate has a job to do, and it is to weed out fraud. The Mumbai consulate has a very large percentage of fraud cases and the OP did not submit much for an ongoing, bona fide relationship. Trust me, I was at my husband's interview, and the OP's interview pales in comparison to what my husband and I went through.

My wife went to Bhopal Passport office, they said they will not issue new passport for this but they re-laminated it and gace the passport back to us. my wife will be sending it to Mumbai Consulate directly.

i need your opinion: since VO asked for new passport, shall i just send this passport or explain that bhopal passport office has re-laminated it.

submit the passport and explain in a letter (or if you have something in writing from RPO, good for you)

I have phone calls, 300 pages emails, chat logs, photographs, all the flight tickets since 2007 has with me. I have 2 albums with with 50-50 photographs each. I wanted to submit my chat logs, emails and flight tickets but that Indian Visa officer was so stubborn that she told me no we will take it later, handed the 221(g) letter and said you may leave now. As if she wants to give me a hard time. And I am not an emotional fool, I know everything depends here on factual basis. I am regretting that after marriage he was with me for 1 month and he left because of work. so I am waiting eagerly for him, thats it.

Harsh has said it....

But you need to submit everything you can think of.... don't need to keep one and submit others.

This is your time to prove your relationships (which is always right in your eyes) but it is time to prove it.

Don't feel bad about any comments here... People are getting facts and want to help....

No one here want to give you bad advice but advice can only be given for the known facts.

Not to worry, start getting things... and submit all of it.

Same thing happened to us, when she went and submit to VFS, they did not take any supporting docs, was told to take it to interview... At the interview for 15 mins, given 221(g) to submit supporting documents to VFS, even though she has everything and mentioned that VFS did not take it first time...

But was told to submit to VFS, we did and VISA was in our hand in a month.

One more thing, you must have a receipt or a paper for submitting passport and re-laminated by them...

They always give you a receipt for all the interactions with a passport.

Send a copy with your passport and letter (ref should be in cover letter for the receipt # and date)

no they did not gave anything (no receipt/no token) did not charge but said Sorry :bonk: .

Lesson to be learned:

some small inaction on your part can create a big trouble for someone.

Payal,

I know how you feel now, i was in the same situation. This time will also pass.

just focus and submit some more evidence, remember you are legally wedded wife of USC, they can delay visa but cant deny you. talk to your husband as well he can help to arrange some more evidence .

i also pre-booked ticket for my wife which i cancelled now, but i am going to india now and hopefully, will bring her with me.

ask your husband if he can come to india for some time that will make you feel better.

May god grant you early Visa. God Bless.

best thing is to call your husband to india,

- open a new back account or add him to your old account or ask him to add you on his account, if he has any NRI account that can be done very easily

- get a letter from bank that you two maintain joint back account

- take some new dated picture while he is in india

- ask him to make you beneficiary in his 401K, insurance if any and US bank account (which can be done online).

- take all these stuff and send it

YOU WILL SUCCEED.....

For additional photos, you can submit more of your hubby's visits to your country and Skype screenshots showing both of you on video chat.

You can also submit money remittance receipts/slips (Western Union money transfers and the likes) if you don't have joint bank accounts.
