Ohh its very sad and I can understand the pain. 15 days back me and my hubby were talking about the tickets and the price but alas! Anyways, as far as making of new passport, you have to arrange for Tatkal (that's what they called in India) and your wife should apply at the earliest and this Tatkal usually delivers within 3-4 days but charges are little high but ordinary passport takes 2/3 months as police verification is very slow here, not sure if police verification would be included again for the re-issuance of passport again. And this nos of Tatkal passports issuance is limited.

And you have to submit to the VFS ( Visa Facilitation Center) and your wife can submit it in Mumbai VFS as mine will be in Kolkata. But again tell your wife to call the Mumbai VFS regarding holidays and submission of documents as well. It is clearly written in 221(G) letter.

Hope this helps!

Good Luck to your wife as well!

Please pray to God that we will get Visa soon. I am dying for my husband. :( :( :(

good luck

Thanks Buddy!

Good Luck to you as well!

As far as Cover letter is concerned, I have no idea and you can't send my mail because you need to submit the passport pick up through courier charges there as well and they will issue a receipt.

I will call the VFS soon and let you know about cover letter.

"pgupta" your's is easy, get the new passport and submit it, you should be fine.

"swehun" you are in AP, need to wait it out the processing of it.

"payal" it looks like they are not believing that both of you have on-going relationship of married couples.

You need to prove that by providing all of the stuff that they have asked you and any additional information that you see will help you in proving your on-going relationship with your hubby.

The proofs need to cover timelines from your marriage to the interview.

They have kept your pictures, please be aware that they can visit your home/work and inquire about you/your marriage....

How your husband got his citizenship? Do you guys have red flags in your case or any past life?

Please want to ask personal advice, please email me.

Hi,

Yesterday on Nov 26 I had my interview in Mumbai Consulate at 7:30am for the CR1 visa interview. Everything was going well all of a sudden the Visa officer asks about Snaps and I showed her the album, she saw that and the Visa Officer left the place and had some discussion outside. In short I am telling that I had 1 hour and 45 min. interview by three separate visa officers starting with one blonde lady, then one Indian lady visa officer and one lady Caucasian in an interrogation room there and they grilled me left right and center. Then after that they issued me a 221(G) refusal letter stating that I need to submit photographs of the ongoing relationship, or transfer of property, joint bank account statements.

In this stage how much it will take to complete the process because I am half dead now. Waiting for the visa to see my husband. I am dying to meet him. Anyone has any idea? Please have some. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

This is not refusal just a hold till you provide additional documents.

i need your opinion: since VO asked for new passport, shall i just send this passport or explain that bhopal passport office has re-laminated it.

since we did not pay Rs 300 for premium processing they are going to use old submission method which we chose at their website to pickup from blue dart location in indire.

Payal - you need to gather anything you can: chats, phone records, travel records, if your husband has started to add you to accounts, insurances, etc. Just having a wedding and putting everything else on hold until visa is in hand can look suspicious, especially in India.

Once they have the additional information, it will take time for a decision to be made (up to 3 months is pretty typical from what can be researched here on vj). Please keep in mind that the consulates also close frequently this time of year due to holidays [both Indian and US]. You need to approach this from a facts-based stance and not an emotional stance. Waxing away in a cover letter about how much you miss your husband and how much you love your husband without showing concrete examples of how you have been starting to inter-mingle your lives won't get you far.

OP- from your description and narration of events it seems they did not believe you have genuine relationship, either the pictures you took were not enough or during the interview they asked you something which did not sound right to them.

Maybe you panicked or were under pressure and did not answer right or something so basically they are asking for more pictures and more evidence to prove that your relation is real.

So you can provide any evidence that shows that your relation is genuine would work in addition to what the consulate is asking.

This is absurd. They just want to give people hard time. However, you should have been prepared already for this. I had provided my wife with telephone calls records (most recent) and all money transfer receipt just in case CO asks her for on-going relation proof but she was lucky they did not ask for any of this; but, you should always be prepared for the worst. Calls record and money tranbsfer receipt are the strongest evidence. Even though my wife doesn't need money i still sent her some from time to time so that we have a proof and call records were always looked up onto and we had daily call logs to show.

I have phone calls, 300 pages emails, chat logs, photographs, all the flight tickets since 2007 has with me. I have 2 albums with with 50-50 photographs each. I wanted to submit my chat logs, emails and flight tickets but that Indian Visa officer was so stubborn that she told me no we will take it later, handed the 221(g) letter and said you may leave now. As if she wants to give me a hard time. And I am not an emotional fool, I know everything depends here on factual basis. I am regretting that after marriage he was with me for 1 month and he left because of work. so I am waiting eagerly for him, thats it.

This is not absurd there is a process they look at things before they reject anyone and specially spouse of USC.

Their decisions are based on the frauds committed by the people, they make a calculated decision.

Most cases the burden is on petitioner to prove the relation is genuine and not for sole purpose of obtaining Visa.

They are not there to give you hard time but they are there to protect their country and stop ppl from getting a visa on fraudulent basis.

You got to understand CO does not have time to go thru 300 pages of email nor each and every pic you submit.

They look at few things and for most cases they have 5-15 mins to make a decision to grant a visa or go for interview or ask more evidence.

There is something that you said during your interview at the window or during your in person interview that raises the flag and they need to see more evidence.

Since I do not have the details about the interview its difficult to say what exactly could be the red flag.

No as far as I know, I didn't say anthing wrong, that blonde CO completely and carefully sees my 50 photographs and then she left the chair and went to someone (some other officer) and asked something and then came back and said " Somebody will attend you shortly".

Then I was taken to the interrogation room.
