Hi,

Yesterday on Nov 26 I had my interview in Mumbai Consulate at 7:30am for the CR1 visa interview. Everything was going well all of a sudden the Visa officer asks about Snaps and I showed her the album, she saw that and the Visa Officer left the place and had some discussion outside. In short I am telling that I had 1 hour and 45 min. interview by three separate visa officers starting with one blonde lady, then one Indian lady visa officer and one lady Caucasian in an interrogation room there and they grilled me left right and center. Then after that they issued me a 221(G) refusal letter stating that I need to submit photographs of the ongoing relationship, or transfer of property, joint bank account statements.

In this stage how much it will take to complete the process because I am half dead now. Waiting for the visa to see my husband. I am dying to meet him. Anyone has any idea? Please have some. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Sorry, Snaps? I don't know what that is

It doesn't seem like a denial, it seems like they are requesting more evidence, can you provide that evidence?

Good luck

For additional photos, you can submit more of your hubby's visits to your country and Skype screenshots showing both of you on video chat.

You can also submit money remittance receipts/slips (Western Union money transfers and the likes) if you don't have joint bank accounts.

Hmmmmmm.... Looks like we were both interviewed in a similar way. I too was grilled just like you, first by an African-American lady, then the Indian lady and the Caucasian lady in the interrogation room. I entered the consulate at 7:30am and left at 1:30pm!!! They made me wait like crazy and grilled me three times (3 seperate interviews). Finally, the African lady said things were looking good and that I should get my passport in 7 days. It's been 26 days since my interview and I DO NOT have my passport yet. I have no idea what's happened. They didn't give me any sheet or ask for further documents. I feel your pain... been feeling it since 4 weeks now.

Sorry for your visa refusal.you will be issued the visa if you provide the required documents. You are now placed under AP till you meet the visa issuance clause 221g.

What you are asked to prove is on going bona fide relationship.so depending on how long you have been married, you should be on your husband tax transcript and property title if he owns any.you can have family and workers of both family write letter of acknowledgement of your relationship and this must be sent to the embassy.they should use case number, petioner name and date of birth, beneficiary name and date of birth etc. and they should state their relationship with any of you and since when they know any of you and the marriage etc...nobody can predict a time frame as you wish.AP varies from post to post.the CO will keep coming at you for more proof if they are not satisfied.

Hope that will help.

Good Luck

But its good that they retained your passport and you will get it soon. But they issued this 221(g) letter to me and returned my passport but retained those albums...so let's see how it goes. I feel suicidal now :( :( :(

Don't be sad. All you have to do is to provide what they asked for, and they'll give you the visa. I prefer if they returned my passport with directions than keep it for 1 month without any directions. And it could take many months before they return my passport! Consider yourself lucky, seriously!

i m issued a 221g on 8th nov as well..I was asked to submit one more document which i did on 15th nov..after this submission they collected my passport and informed me they will get back to me in 2 months..usually its much before than 2 months but that's the maximum period u might have to wait..so i suggest get up and sent them the docs asap..that's the only thing u can do to speed up the process.

So did you get your visa? so in your case, it already 2 months+...God knows how much we long we will have to wait. :( :( :( let me know when you will get your passport and visa so that I can estimate the time as well.

Good Luck, Hopefully everything will be fine soon!
