Correct. You are IR/CR-1 so you do not get the I-94 stapled inside your passport and just get it stamped as you have a green card in process already.

they will not accept your I-94 if the expiration is less than 2 months. I went to DMV to get a state ID and i turned down because my I-94 was expiring in 1 month and 3 weeks. the reason why they're not accepting it because they said, it takes 2 months for DMV to verify my information to the immigration. i was so disappointed when they told me that...

I-94 is only for tourist visa so dmw wont give you driver's license coz you will be home apparently.

Wrong.

My wife came here on a K-1 visa (not a tourist visa) and Immigrations stamped, dated and stamped the I-94 in her passport. What DMV does is specific to each state, I have read of others here on VJ that got their driver's license as long as there was a specific amount of time remaining on the I-94 and they were also K-1 visa.

What have you done so far ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
