Hello everyone , here is my AOS interview experience.First of all i would like to share that we got our interview date in just under 3 months (pretty fast).me and my wife would like to rate it as a 5 star experience although we have not been approved neither verbally nor officially but taking everything into account i think we got it. ok, so we drove all the way to chicago (6 hours) from our home and stayed the night @ hotel chinatown in chinatown, chicago for $103.00 (you would never want to stay there)it was a rip off but i choose it because of its close proximity from the USCIS office (3 miles in 12 minutes in Rush hour traffic).we checked in at around sunday 11:30 pm and our interview was scheduled today NOV 26 @ 9:45 AM.we got there at 8 am sharp and parked ($14 for us) our car 'what they call it the immigration parking' just a stone throw away from the USCIS building.we went threw the security in 5 minutes on our way to the second floor.here comes the best part,as soon as i presented my interview appointment letter at the little glass window.the lady started talking to two other women standing beside her.pretty obvious i did not had any idea who were they and one of them asked me oh you guys are early (about 30-35 minutes )for your appointment and started showing us the way to a corridor right behind the glass window where they check the appointment letters.now there is a big sitting/waiting area in front of that initial check up point where i saw (don't even know exactly about 30 people).so we started following this lady thinking that there will be another hall for the interviewees but no there was not.she was actually the officer  who took us to her office , introduced herself (i don't remember but it was a spanish name for sure) and asked to swear to be truthful.she was in her mid thirties was soft spoken..oh yes, there was another lady in the room taking the notes and observing me carefully.before i realized that they are actually going to interview us i literally asked them "are you guys interviewing us right away ?" "yes, was the answer" and this is how it went.

Officer - since, you would like to be interviewed without your attorney, please sign this form which said that we have no objection in being interviewed without our attorney that actually represented our case to the govt.we did.

Officer - may i have your IDs ?

Me - Gave her the state ID , EAD , my PP and my wife gave her American PP along with the Driver's license.

O - Asked me if i had a SSN ?

Me - gave her the same (got it a week ago and the same day went to the DMV and got myself the state ID)

O - may i see the original copies of birth certs. of both and marriage license ? Me - provided (she was just tallying them with the photocopies on our file)

O - state your legal name ? i did

O - state your current address ? i did

0 - she was going through our file and telling the lady o yeah , we got his medical and affidavit of support and the biographic info forms and marking off something.

# as far as i recall there was no computer, printer in the room except about 30 files and some framed pictures.

O - started asking me the standard yes/no questions from i-485 form.

Me- i was holding my wife's hand and was looking deep into the officer eyes while shooting my Nos to all the questions.

O - Ok ! flipping few pages from the file , how did you guys met ?

Me - i looked at her and than at my wife and asked her if she would like to answer that , she told me to go ahead and speak.

Me - online via Facebook

O - aah i see , did you guys had a common friend ? Me - No

O - than how and when ?

Me - i was working in Canada at that time and on one fine day accidentally bumped into her on FB , liked her picture and shot her a friend's request.

O - when did you meet in person ?

Me - after about 7 months when i flew down to Chicago on her birthday.

O - what is your recent entry date to the US ? me - answered

O - Have you always used the B/2 visa to enter the US ? Me - Yes ! Ma'am.

O - ummm , so i have here with me your file, would you like to add something new which shows that you guys are living together ?(and told us to her Bank statements etc)

Me - provided the last 5 months statements , me mentioned as a beneficiary of my wife's life insurance , Auto insurance card , bills showing wife's paying for my medical expenses .

Officer to my wife - how long did you go to india for and i see you guys had both civil (in US) and traditional ceremonies ? (that was the first and the last question to her)

wife - we went for 2 weeks and yes we had the ceremonies

# By that time she started telling us that she is done and we will be hearing from them in 2 weeks and if we had any questions for her or if we would like to show her something else ? i said i had brought a lot of stuff to show.she said, give us whatever you want to.i showed her the scrap book that we made with 30 odd pics throughout the courtship.she had a brief look at them and i offered her if she wants to have copies of the emails we shared during the courtship and some hotel bills etc.she said , give me all whatever you want to provide and i did the same and popped the questions we are approved ? she said.'i can't tell right now but you will hear about it in a couple of weeks and kept discussing some other case with the second lady and asked her to walk us out.

everything happened in like 15 minutes from parking , security and interview. we were out of the Chicago loop by 9:50 am.

1) She took the I-94 but not the EAD.

2) Never mentioned the next step for ROC (as they do in the most of the cases)

3) The only time me and my wife rehearsed some of the basic questions was on our way to Chicago.

4) After the officer said that she is done , i mentioned to her about me following this web 'VJ' that i thought we will be getting a beeper while we wait for our turn and it will take a while.she smiled and said 'do not trust everything on a blog'

5) VJ ain't hearsay , people share real life experiences here and is therefore awesome.

6) my wife never sat down with me and read a single experience here on VJ.she thinks we have nothing to hide and every case is a different and so their questions will be.she did not wanted to go with any predisposition so i was a little uneasy with that as i strongly believe that there basic set of questions for everyone are same and follows a different course afterwords with different answers received.

7) No change in the online status so far for both 485 and 130.

8) we got awesome vibes , i think we got it.

9) we succeeded in scamming the USCIS (Just Kidding)

10) My apologies for this long thread.

God bless all

thanks everyone for their wishes , one more thing that i forgot to mention is when the officer asked my wife what does that tattoo say on her arm ? (we got each others name inked)the tattoo on her arm is in my native language and on mine is in english. she than asked me if she can see mine.i had a business suit on but i took off my jacket and showed my tattoo to her.this is my take on her.they are like robots.the reason she asked me and wife for the tattoos because we sent them the pics of the tattoos initially with our application.she was just making sure if they were real.both of the ladies had thier eyes , ears glued to 'me'.they were observing me so carefully.the way i opened the briefcase to present the dossier , the way i answer.every single thing.
