How Long Between Interview & Visa Issuance

There are some embassies where you get the visa on the same day as the interview, but there are embassies where it takes several months.

What is the longest wait for those that passed the interview?

Any info would be appreciated...

Got RFE at first interview and got visa 4 days after the second interview.

10-xx-04 I129 sent

05-xx-05 NOA1 from USCIS - Aproved - Abandoned for Cr1

CR1

11-15-04 I-130 sent

12-10-04 NOA 1 fee changed had to resend info with new fee

12-11-04 Resend case with new fee

02-14-05 NOA 2 I-130 Case aproved and sent to NVC

02-25-05 NVC received case

03-21-05 Received I-864 fee bill

03-22-05 Sent $70 I-864 payment to

04-16-05 Received IV fee bill

04-17-05 Sent $ 380 IV payment to NVC

05-02-05 Received I-864 packet from NVC

05-02-05 Sent I-864 packet to NVC

05-11-05 NVC received IV payment

05-16-05 NVC sent third packet

05-25-05 Received DS-230 and third packet instructions

06-06-05 NVCReceived DS-230 per fed ex confirmation

06-07-05 NVC Enters DS-230 information in system

I would think it very much depends on the country/consulate. In Indonesia (consulate in Jakarta), if nothing is pending, you will get the visa within 1 week of successful interview date.

Oct 29 2004 : Received at CSC

Nov 8 2004 : Received response from CSC that my file is being requested & review will be done

Nov 10 2004 : Email & online status Approved

Nov 15 2004 : NOA 2 in mail

Dec 16 2004 : NVC assigns case number

Dec 20 2004 : NVC sent DS 3032 to beneficiary, copy of DS 3032 & I-864 fee bill to petitioner

Jan 3 2005 : Petitioner received copy of DS 3032 and I-864 fee bill. Post-marked Dec 23rd.

Jan 11 2005 : Beneficiary received DS 3032 in Indonesia

Jan 31 2005 : Sent DS 3032 to NVC

Feb 8, 2005 : NVC received DS 3032

Feb 21, 2005 : IV fee generated

Feb 25, 2005 : Sent I-864 fee bill

Feb 28, 2005 : I-864 fee bill delivered to St Louis

Mar 3, 2005 : IV fee bill received

Mar 7, 2005 : Sent IV fee bill

Mar 9, 2005 : IV fee bill delivered to St Louis

Mar 28, 2005 : I-864 fee credited against case.

April 6, 2005 : Received I-864 package

April 7, 2005 : Immigrant Visa fee credited against case.

April 11, 2005 : DS 230 is generated

Aug 12, 2005 : I-864 & DS 230 received by NVC

Sep 14, 2005 : RFE on I-864

Nov 3, 2005 : Checklist response received at NVC

Nov 25, 2005 : Case completion

Dec 9, 2005 : Police Cert requested from the Netherlands

Jan 12 2006 : Interview success - Approved !!

Jan 19 2006 : Visa & brown envelope picked up

i wrote to th embassy this week and asked for the earliest interview date possible and today i received a date for March 28, 2006. I wrote two days ago and my case was completed February 23 and shipped March 02, 2006. The embassy picked up the package today.

i was pleasantly pleased.

8 months??? are you saying you are waiting 8 months for AR?? That is long. Hope you will be with your spouse soon.

I got my visa the day after my interview. This was at the US Consulate in Montreal.

15-March-2005 - FINALLY RECEIVED MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE!!!

16-March-2005 - Mailed RFE w/ Marriage Cert back to CSC...we're on our way...

23-March-2005 - CSC received Marriage Certificate

29-April-2005 APPROVED!!!!

I-130 - 162 days at CSC
