Hey guys, I have my interview on Thursday :) . I would like to have a general idea on how long it is to receive via DHL the passport/visa after approval. I live in Québec city. Is it a matter of couple of days or weeks?

Thanks ;)

Some get it in a few days--some it takes longer. Have you always lived in Canada? If not---and more importantly so, if you came from a country that does not have great relations with the USA---your case may get reviewed again, and cause a further delay in the issuing of the Visa.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I had my interview on a Monday and I received my passport and envelope that Friday!

Normally it doesn't take more than a few days.

Congrats!

If you're not put into AP it shouldn't take more than a few days but you never know what might happen. If you're trying to make moving plans it's best to wait until you receive the envelope and check that your visa has the correct info on it before deciding on any dates. As a recent thread here shows, it's possible for DHL to damage the envelope or for your visa to have the incorrect information on it. Not that these are common occurrences, I don't meant to scare you :P

It took us two weeks. We didn't hear anything so we stopped at Loomis to see after 13 days and they had it. The next day, after we picked it up, we got the notification that it was being shipped. Who knows how long it had actually been sitting there.
