I just wanted to confirm that I have all the right information about how much this visa will cost. We are trying to decide between CR-1 and K-1 and Im thinking K-1 looks more convenient, if a bit more expensive, yeah?

I-129 packet- $340

processing at NVC - $240

medical exams - $125 (depends on your country)

I-485 packet within 90 days of arrival in US -$1070

And thats all right? For a total of almost $1800?

The costs you included are accurate, save for the visa fee...that doesn't happen at the NVC stage for the K-1. It's paid at the embassy/consulate prior to or at your interview. You should also include the costs of making copies, photos, mailing/shipping items, airfare, etc. There are other "true cost of the K-1" threads on VJ, but it can vary.

In the end, both processes are not inexpensive. If you opt for the spousal visa, there's the cost of traveling, any required periods of stay within the country (if the wedding happens outside the U.S.), the marriage license, etc. Anyone who includes the words "cheaper" in this process is speaking in relative terms. Definitely review the comparison chart and think about what items are more important to you. It's a personal decision that each couple has to make on their own. Good luck!

The I-129F (NOT I-129) petition fee is $340 and the rest of the info is correct BUT there is no NVC processing fee with the K-1 (I-129f) You DO pay a visa fee when you interview, and I think perhaps you have confused that.

Otherwise correct. Add $585 for Removal of Conditions in two years and $630 for citizenship in three years (after her first green card) Medical exams vary. There are other incidental costs such as vaccines (maybe) police certificate, passport photos, etc. Relatively minor expenses.
