Hi- I obtained permanent residency through marriage-based immigration, and the conditions were removed about a year ago. My spouse and I divorced three months ago. I am about to travel overseas to visit my family and wanted to know if I needed to provide additional documents such as the divorce decree, besides the green card at the point of entry when I return to the US. I researched online, but didn’t find a clear answer. Does anyone have similar experience? I appreciate the input.

A green card holder does not need to present a passport at the PoE when returning to the U.S. (although they may have difficulty getting to the PoE without one).

Thanks to everyone for the answer.

I remember having to carry the marriage certificate everytime I left and returned to the country and being inquired about our marriage before. (That was when I had the conditional residency card). Also on the card, under Category, it says "IR6", which I understand refers to marriage-based immigration. Because of those reasons, I was wondering if I should carry the divorce document and be ready to explain.
