Someone on here said that when they called USCIS a courteous person told them that when they say they are processing May 14th, 2012, what they mean to say is they are processing applications two weeks before this date and two weeks after this date. I'm not sure it this is true or not, but it would make sense if they keep on saying that they are working on May 14th.

Yes, that was from my call to them :) This is what the man told me on the phone, and you have to realize how many files fall into that time frame ughhhh! Thousands ! Be happy you aren't in my shoes, not only am I a May filer but i live within 5 mins of the office in Vermont that processes the I-130s, I pass by on the way to work and the way back. I can even see inside in the evening because it gets dark earlier and the lights are on, all our lovely files on metal shelving just waiting, it's torturous! I'll admit I do yell at the building when I go by , I hope they don't hear me :) And yes , I would be the one to ask if they are closed on holidays LOL

I haven't resorted to pressing my face against the window yet, but I'm getting close! lol

I know that they are probably under a lot of stress right now to process the back log. It's not intentional and I just keep telling myself soon, soon , soon :) I just wish that whoever made the decision to send the petitions after Aug out to field offices would have taken the first come , first serve approach as they claim is their procedure. There must be some method to their madness :)

My God, that's horrible! They cause a lot of stress and heartache. You pay for the visa so you should be able to follow what's going on with the file

and meanwhile... I still haven't gotten the NOA1 yet! LOL Must be the holidays?

Easy for you to say! I think we deserve more. At least, we are entitled to know where we stand and we must be given concrete time-frames (ie. how long we will wait) and be treated with respect.

I agree with you. our priority date is October 29 2010 and we have been sent back from the cairo embassy to be reviewed again by USCIS. it is a long process. i was told to give them in thee beginning 120 days from the date they received it back from the embassy. i did so , called and made service request and in 15 days i was told to give them til dec 19th ( 6 months from the day they got it back from the embassy) to see what they will do.

i understand about the waiting game and it is heart breaking and nerve racking.

hang in there and trust in god, he will let him it happen!

MY NOA1 was April 24th and I still have not heard anything. I went through the same thing (being told to wait another week) and finally was allowed a Service Request. Their response to the Service request was to wait for another 6 months. I have now contacted both my senator and representative.

you think it might have something to do with these 4 letters I-R-A-N?

It may very well be! However, I would like to know if that's gonna slow down the process. At this point we are in the limbo. If we knew it takes a longer time, we could have made different arrangements.

Finally, I just called them back today trying to see if i could open a service request. No luck whatsoever. They would not let me. Fortunately, the lady I spoke with told me to wait for 7 more days, and I should hear from them within that time. I feel very positive about this even though I had been told the same answer numerous times.

@Rezahoss- Were you able to file a service request? What do they tell you when you call them?

@Rezahoss- Were you able to file a service request? What do they tell you when you call them?

Yes! I had to go to Boston Field office to do a Service Request. My service request was done on 10/31/12 and one week later I got an email from VSC saying: "Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact customer service at the number provided below."

Hope this helps! Good luck!
