My Fiancee is wondering what types of question they will ask about her daughter that does not have a father listed on the birth certificate.

She is scared that they will deny her because she did not declare a father for her.

If there is any females from the Philippines that have gone through the interview with an undeclared child could you please shed some light.

Thank you.

My step daughters birth certificate has no father listed. It was not an issue and was never even questioned at her K1 interview. Additionally, when I adopted her in the states, it made the adoption much easier. We got to skip the "newspaper publishing" stuff and putative father search.

My stepson's BC has no father listed. It just means that the father gave up all rights, or never was present from the beginning and the courts who issue the BC recognize this. Not an issue.

The correct term is ‘illegitimate child’ Illegitimate children are under the parental authority of their mother. You can read up on this in the, "THE FAMILY CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES"

No issue at all. We had no problems during the K1/K2 process, or during AOS. After getting the green card, during the adoption, the process was very easy too. It was helpful that our daughter's father knew about her, but still chose to not be a part of her life. This made the adoption cut and dry. Easier than it would have been if he knew nothing about her.

Thank you for the responses. I tried to assure her this would not be a problem but it was one of her first concerns. With approx. 59 days to the interview the Fiancee is starting to ask questions and getting nervous the closer we get to the interview date. I told her that is normal and to take a big chill pill. But I do appreciate the responses. Thank you again VJ community..............

Question was asked in the General K-1 forum and not the appropriate regional forum.

To baron555 how do you post in the regional forum. Question was asked in the General K-1 forum and not the appropriate regional forum. Could you please tell me why it could not be asked in the K1 forum when it is related to the K1 process. Can you show me where it is posted that this type of question needs to be posted in the regional forum and not in the general k1 forum.

thank you

Dah, yet you gave inaccurate information pertaining to a specific country other then yours anyways?

Hence, my comment, 'Philippines and Russia, like apples and oranges':)

Because "No Father Listed on Birth Certificate (Philippine)" has nothing to do with the K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures. Your question is a regional specific topic. You need to navigate the (Forums) to grasps a better understanding.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures

This forum discusses the US immigration procedure used to obtain a K1 Fiance(e) Visa for a non US Citizen (living overseas) engaged to a US Citizen. K2 Visas for children of the foreign fiance(e) (if applicable) are also discussed.

sjr09 So are you saying this is incorrect when it specifically states this is for K1 and K2 visa to be discussed. If so there are other post just like this that are not in the regional forums and I did not see you making any reference to those comments. And where is it listed in the TOS that it has to be listed in the Regional Forum when others have posted like questions and they have not been pointed out.
