Go to the advanced search feature on this website and enter "transit visa" in the Philippines sub-forum. This has been asked and answered several times with some people saying "yes, you need a transit visa" and others saying "no, you do not". I would go to the Embassy of the country you want to go thru and see if someone from the Philippines with a valid US visa is required any type of visa--transit or otherwise.

Good travels,

Dave

You do not need a visa if your simply traveling to the US and need to change planes at a airport in Japan, Taiwan, Korea, or any other country.

If you plan to stopover, leave the airport and visit inside the country then you need a visa.

I never had layover in Japan or Taiwan but I've been in Seoul. For transfer from one terminal to another, I didn't need a visa even when I was still a Filipino citizen.

Good luck!

Any suggestion for what airline is best to take from Manila to Philadelphia? thanks a lot fellow members..

If you have money, then it's best to use Philippine Airlines. They have direct flights from Manila to USA. Your first stopover in USA wherever that is, is your POE. This is where they'll process your immigration papers. Then from that point, it's just a domestic flight to Philadelphia. You don't need to worry about exiting the airport unintentionally. You can also find flights under 20 hours if you use PAL.

Philippine Airlines is one of the cheapest, but not the best service by far.

If you have a confirmed ticket through Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand you are ok. Not sure about China.. If you are on an employee pass or buddy pass(not-confirmed) you will need a transit visa in Japan and Korea.
