Minimum Income For K1

Good day, VJ members! I have a question again. So I thought my USC fiance only need to submit I-134, recent paystubs, and ITR. We're both not aware about this poverty line, sorry.

How much is the minimum income requirement for a K1 petitioner as of 2013? (We're still waiting for NOA2 and interview might be soon next year)

He's divorced but has no children so am I. Anyone knows how much he needs to have in his bank for the 2 of us?

Replies will be much appreciated. Thanks for the time, again! :)

God bless.

It is not about how much he has in the bank. If his income is enough to meet the 125% requirement, then he does not have to list assets at all. That part of the I-134 can be left blank. His current annual income is what the poverty guidelines are all about. The minimum is $18,912 for a household of 2: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

As far as I have seen, the 2013 poverty guidelines have not been released yet. Even checking the USCIS website, it is still posting the 2012 guidelines that went in to effect "March 1st 2012". So, as of now it is $18,912 for a family of 2. If he makes above that, all he needs are pay stubs, ITR and a letter from his employer.

Thank you, friends! The chart is very helpful.

By the way, the $18, 912 income requirement for a family of 2: is it a monthly or yearly income?

Thanks again.

:)

Yearly: current annual income.
