Probably a stupid question...

I'm new to all this so I apologise if this is a stupid question. My boyfriend (US citizen) has proposed and I obviously said yes. We have decided to wait until after the wedding for me to move to the US and so we will be going down the CR1 route. I think I understand it all having read numerous guides and timelines but one thing I'm not sure about.

After the wedding I will return to the UK. I have read that we will then be separated during the paperwork process. Does this mean no travel at all? I work for an airline and have to travel frequently with work. How long will I be without a passport? Would I be able to travel to other countries during the paperwork process or do I need to look for another job?!?!

Thank you

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

You can travel all you want. After your interview the embassy will hold on to your passport for 1-2 weeks. That is it.

3/26/18 Biometrics
