If you are talking about a TB TEST, it is sometimes normal to have a small scar left over. I still have mine from when I was a teenager and that was a long time ago.

Did he have active TB infection? Or did he have a TB vaccine which left a scar? If he formerly had TB he will need to have a chest x-ray and the doctor's determination that he is not contagious. If it is just a positive reaction caused by the vaccine (which can happen) then a chest x-ray will show it is not an active infection. Both Alla and Sergey had positive skin tests and negative x-rays. They had no problems with being approved.

As a seasoned VJ'er and respiratory therapist, if the scaring you refer to is in the lung(s), and the panel physician concludes with a chest film that it is from the past, she should be good to go. However, plan ahead and have her do the medical exam a few weeks before the interview in the event the physician wants to do a 3-day round of sputum cultures. This is what happened to us. It was a big hassle, but well worth the second long train ride and the cost of the hotel stay in Kiev. Good luck.
