I-864 or I-134 or both for K1 Brazil Interview in Rio

The appointment packet online lists the poverty guidelines link, which is the I864P. Do we bring the I-864 in addition to the I-134? Also, does the I-134 need to be notorized? It appears that the only documents requiring notary are the Federal and Civil Police Certificates and the Sworn Statement. Is this correct?

Welcome to the forum.

Have you had a chance to review the Rio embassy/consulate info? It was last updated 15 Aug 2012, so it should be current. You may also want to check the regional forum.

Perhaps someone who has recently gone through the Rio embassy/consulate will soon reply?

Good luck on your visa journey.

K-1 visas typically use the I-134. The I-864 will not be needed until AOS. The 125% requirement that is needed for the I-864 is also needed when using the I-134, so that is most likely why they linked you to the poverty guidelines. The I-134 instructions are vague. It is best to read the I-864 instructions to know what guidelines the consulate follows and what will be required, even when using the I-134 form.

The consulate info page here VJ that A&B linked above states the I-134 is needed for a fiance(e) visa. It does not need to be notarized.
