My wife and I were married this month in Spain and are about to begin the CR-1 process. We want to come to the U.S. (I am a citizen) for the holidays as well as so she can attend a professional conference of the Modern Language Association in Boston. We are beginning the process in Spain of asking for a permission to leave (for myself). My question is:

Does anybody have any experience in entering or trying to enter the United States after filing the I-130?

Thanks,

Connor & Maria

She should have no problem entering on the visa waiver program for up to 90 days. I'd bring the NOA1 to show you plan on doing things the legal way, and maybe a brochure from the conference/ letter from her employer saying she is attending the conference and is expected back on X date, but she probably won't even be asked for it.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
