I've searched through this site and read both the instructions from this site and the Selective Service site - but now I am confused!

Do I need to include a Status Information Letter from the Selective Service if I entered the US (in 2009)aged 43? The part that confuses me is on the application for the letter - the paragraph where you explain why you didn't register for selection.

REASON WHY YOU FAILED TO REGISTER WITH SELECTIVE SERVICE UPON

REACHING AGE 18 AND BEFORE REACHING AGE 26:

This doesn't apply to me because I was 43 - so do I still need to obtain this Status Information Letter prior to my N-400 application?

In my application I simply put NA. Because it didnt apply to me as it doesnt for you.

I obtained the letter for the sake of covering my behind thats all.

At my interview the officer asked me, and I said I was here after my 26 birthday, and he counted from my birthdate till the date I was admitted and told yes that is correct, then I also showed the letter and he said thats great to make sure all papers on place and he took a copy of it.

So, in short, put NA, and try to obtain a letter, if you did not get it, not a problem at all.

You don't have to !!!

I am watching the USCIS video online that explains what to bring to the naturalization interview. One of the things they require is the Selective Service letter for men up to age 31. I thought the cutoff was 26. My husband arrived here when he was 28, so he is okay, right? Is there a way to obtain a letter anyways stating that he arrived after age 26 so did not need to register? I just want to be sure that he has everything in place for the interview when the time arrives. Thanks!
