Bringing CV/Resume to interview

On my appointment letter for my IR-1 interview at the consulate it has the following on the first page:

All Applicants are required to provide evidence of their own ablility to support themselves in the united states in addition to the i-864 required for family petitions, such evidence may consist of:

- Own Funds (Bank accounts/investments)

- Net assets

- CV/Resume - Work history

Okay so I dont have much funds left (maybe $6k after I pay for plane tickets and what not) and I do not own any assets so that leaves me with giving them a copy of my CV/Resume WHICH they basically have from the DS-230 under work history.

Why is this even required? I am a fire alarm installer/Technician so I am skilled & employable but what about the others that are not? will they be denied on this fact?

Is this true that the applicant may also qualify on the basis on his/her own assets? My understanding was that they only used the USC's ones?

Regarding the resume, I do understand why they would like to see it, but I'm also worried for all the applicants that may not have a good or strong work history. Or if they plan to stay at home?

The CV is not an actual requirement. It's just one thing on a list. No worries. Bring what you have.

Yes, it's true that the intending immigrant's liquid assets can be used to qualify. A CV is only actually required when your background is a security concern.

when ever I read 'may' - I think 'optional'

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Exactly. The same goes for anything that follows "In addition to the required...".
