What is the NBI with "AKA"

I saw a recent post with an applicant whose visa was held up due to no "AKA" on the NBI clearance. What does this mean? I know AKA to mean :"also known as" such as nicknames etc. Is that what this refers to? My fiance added her nickname to her request form for the NBI, but the clearance form she got (the green one) had no mention of her "AKA" or nickname.

if you were previously married you should write your AKA with your name and last name of your previous husband... if not no need for AKA.

may NBI Clearance is a green color also PURPOSE TRAVEL ABROAD and no AKA. i hope it is fine to us embasy

I think I remember VJ member sdee's post before, RE: her visa issuance was delayed since she had her name corrected before and the Consul officer wanted her to have a new NBI clearance showing the 3 names(I think) with 'AKA'; her maiden name, the corrected maiden name and her married name.. (If I'm not mistaken..)

My wifes (fiancee then) visa was delayed for this issue. She had NBI clearance in her maiden name, and her married name (husband deceased). However there was a misspelling in her middle name on her birth certifcate. That had been corrected a long time ago, but the consul official noticed it on the birth certificate and made her get another NBI clearance on the misspelled middle name. Delayed us about two weeks.
