Does International Marriage Certificate Need Translation?

My wife and I are beginning the CR1 process, beginning with the I-130 form. We were married in Spain and have a marriage certificate, issued from the Ministerio de Justicia, which we will apostille.

It is currently in French and Spanish, as it is an ¨international version¨, but also has a ¨translation guide¨ in English as well at the bottom and on the back.

My question is: Does it need to be translated?

yes. Our was in English and Bahasa (Indonesian) but we still had to get it translated by an authorized translator.

Most of the embassies and consulates have a list of their authorized translators and there are a jillion translations services in the US.

Yes, it's necessary to translate it from Spanish to English. To get it apostilled it's a great idea, but the translation will be required anyway.

If the language is both English and Bahasa why would it need translation?

The International Marriage Certificate in Belgium has 4 languages: Dutch, French, German and English.

I added an Apostle but this is not necessary I've read.
