Thanks for all the feedback! Cool that so many people entered :) I hope it's somewhat correct!

What a great idea, I always feel better when there is a visual date even if it is a guesstimate, lol October 29th will be Jan 8-Jan 22

I know right! It's always better to have something to look forward too.

Great! We filed last Sept. 1 and got the NOA1 on Sept. 11. Can't figure out the range from the NOA1 till we will receive the NOA2 though. LOL

Apology, MATH is too easy for me. HAHAHA! Mr. Calculator, where are you?

Sept. 11 + 76-82 days = Nov. 26 - Dec. 2, so that's quite soon!

Well, if the NBC cases are really all forwarded to field offices, then the estimation is flawed because you're averaging TONS of field offices.

I explained it briefly in another thread recently that my though is, if you have, just for example, 1 field office in every state, then an avg of time is skewed by places that have TONS or even virtually NO applications.

Let's say a place like the chicago field office (not the lockbox) has a TON of applications, but a place like montana has very FEW, then it's hard to estimate the status time unless it were actually broken down by field office. Sure, you can look at the overall like you did, and I do as well, but the only place I've actually seen places approved so far from NBC transfers are florida and california. I think one of the california approvals I saw was in the mid 50's. Estimations would have to actually be broken down specifically by field office to be more accurate. Anyone seen anyone approved by Chicago? =\

Would a high population office not have more staff and a remote low population one have less staff?

Seems logical to me that they aren't going to be that different.

Also, I have no idea whether they are sending ours to NBC only or out to Hartford, CT.

No, because by that logic, then all of the original service centers should have processed at the same rate which we all know was not the case. Quantity aside, there really is something to be said about the rate of work in different states. Some people tend to do things slower, where as others do them faster. That is just the lifestyle.

In regards to yourself, see here:

Form Type:

Stand-Alone Immediate Relative (IR) I-130, Petition for Alien Relative

Previous Location:

all USCIS service centers

New location:

Field Office with jurisdiction over the petitioner’s place of residence.

Effect on Customers:

Stand-Alone Immediate Relative I-130s will be transferred from the Service Center to the National Benefits Center (NBC), and then routed to the appropriate Field Office. Customers will receive a notice indicating the case was transferred to the NBC, but that notice will not indicate the final local Field Office location.

And how is the field office location allocated?

Is it the one closest to the USC's address? For those of us filling from abroad, would they use the address we intend to live at?

Or could it be random?

If some of you here somehow got to know the office they were transferred to, what did you learn?

Thank you!

Filing abroad, couldn't tell you, sorry.

I know the people that found out their field offices were because they received RFE's requesting info be sent to that office.

The field offices otherwise are based on the petitioner's residential address and can be looked up here:

I also found a list of international field office.

I still wonder though if they would transfer my case to the International Field Office (according to our current address abroad) or use the office that has jurisdiction over our future US address.

But even if I knew  I probably wouldn't be able to do anything with that data because there is no statistics for Spouse visa anyway.

I have no idea either. We filed from DK, but I figure they might use the address we intend to return to domicile at.

I doubt they would transfer there because there are are LOT of countries missing on that list.

I had to recheck my I-130 to see what was filled out.

My assumption would be that they would send it to your intending address that you filled in.

You are correct in there's really nothing to do with that information unless everyone here on VJ said what field office they were at and then filtered statistics based on that... but there are just too many and not enough VJ people to do that lol

well actually each office has jurisdiction over several countries, so it could work.

For example, it would be the Frankfurt one for us and it covers Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, and Belgium.

But still, it doesn't help getting a better idea of what's going on

My timeline changes every week , now its between feb 18 to april 1. . does anybody know why it keeps changing and moving closer ?

Yup, the August Filers have skewed the regular CSC/VSC filers data...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I just made my second call since receipt of NOA1 and my call was stepped up. I asked very direct questions concerning the problem with MSC receipts and where our files were.

Question 1 Where is my file?

Answer: It is physically in Missouri

Question 2 Will my file be transferred?

Answer: Only if there is a problem with the file and a Local service center needs to see the applicant, otherwise, we will be adjudicating here in Missouri.

NOTE: I beat this one like a drum and was assured the file will stay in Missouri unless have a request or problem with the file. I was also told I WILL get a notice if forwarded to local office, unlike the statement online. She was aware of that statement, but assured me its intention is outdated hmmm, interesting statement.

Additional information from operator: We understand the frustration with the receipt numbers, there is a problem with our system with the receipt numbers from late September to early October and we are still working on correcting the problem. We hope to resolve it very soon Others are slowly being able to check status and you will also in the near future.

I felt I had a very knowledgeable person on the phone and she was very kind and told me to call and get updated every couple weeks if I like, but not to worry the file is in process.
