Because Mrs. T-B. is almost a citizen, see man, I wanted to expose her to Americano culture. On Black Friday 2011 (Viernes Negro, in Spanish), her Ecuadorian cousins were visiting, and I took them out early that morning while Mrs. T-B. & Mini-Bone slept in, zzz man. This year, we have plans for Viernes Negro, so I decided to take her out for Jueves Gris (Gray Thursday), si man.

We both wanted to go to Sears, which was to open at 8p. We got there at 7:50p, and the line of waiting customers was several hundred long and wrapped halfway around the outer sidewalk.

Mrs. T-B.: If we don't get in by 8:30, let's go home.

T-B.: You're nearly an Americana now -- what kind of attitude is that?

Mrs. T-B.: All gringos want to do is to shop.

Mini-B. [22 months old, in stroller]: Uh-oh.

T-B.: All that you seem to want to do is shop.

Mrs. T-B.: Shaddap.

T-B.: You shaddap.

Mini-B.: Uh-oh.

Just then the line began to move. I guessed accurately that customers were being let in a couple of dozen at a time. We entered the store at about 8:20.

A very long line of people were waiting for tickets to buy televisions and electronics. I beelined myself to the garden equipment and grabbed the last cordless hedge-trimmer, then two 24-packs of AA batteries. I found a side register where I was second in line, and checked out.

Mrs. T-B. was looking for boots, which she found, along with a watch. I found her and Mini-B. with some difficulty. We took the elevator up to look at towels.

The towels were disappointing, but I grabbed two bed-pillows, after telling Mrs. T-B. "stay right here while I grab the pillows." Five seconds later, she & Mini-B. had disappeared. I maneuvered the empty stroller and the full shopping-cart with difficulty. At one bottleneck, I was stuck behind another male customer.

T-B.: I told the wife to wait for me, and she disappeared. If she stays gone, I can call my imaginary harem of 6 blondes.

Other Customer [laughing loudly]: Yes, but they couldn't be here in time to help you.

T-B. [crestfallenly]: Si man, you're right. Guess I better try to find the wife.

Mini-B. had taken Mrs. T-B. for a walk, and they appeared shortly. The one checkout station upstairs had around 3 dozen customers waiting. Mrs. T-B. suggested going downstairs. We ended up at the same register where I had been earlier.

At 9:34p and $162 later, we were back in the car. Mrs. T-B. seemed more interested in getting home to change Mini-B.'s diaper than she was satisfied in bolstering her status as an almost-citizen, si man.

Anyone else, huh man?

I went out at 2am as I was awake anyway.....First stop...Kohls.

It wasn't even possible to walk around, due to the checkout line extending around the whole store. Found a cute pair of shoes..... but not cute enough to line up 1.5 hours for....Especially as most people had 1-2 cartloads of stuff.

Went on to Walmart...it was empty...I mean EMPTY.... but then again, there was nothing worth having.... all the TV's, PC's and stuff worth having probably went at 10pm. No lines at checkouts.... it's a pity I did my grocery shopping yesterday.

Well...Lesson learned.....stay in bed next year. That's one night's sleep I'll never get back!!!:bonk:

I'm in Canada so I had my sister wait in line starting at 7pm at walmart to pick up 5 games for my husband for christmas. Store opened at 8 and it was finally her turn to request games at 830. She successfully ended up with 3 of the 5 of them and I purchased one of the others today online for about 13 more than I would have paid in store, but it's normally a 60 dollar game, so for 23 with shipping (instead of 10 at walmart) I still can't complain.

Much love for my sister getting what I needed ^_^

Then today I proceeded to pick up the vita bundle with assassin's creed for only 179.99 on amazon.com

We went late to avoid shite traffic. Traffic was fine but we ended up behind the little old lady that halfway through a 4 lane intersection when the orange light came on decided to slam on her brakes. My husband braked but wasn't able to stop completely in time which resulted in a tiny thump. No damage to either vehicle though and no need to exchange details. Driving off he noticed the brakes were acting weird. We blew a brake line... wonderful. He'll fix it though, he's good like that.

I did end up buying earphones with a mic for my phone when I'm driving, and Bop It and Yahtzee. I like games :)

I know!! I have that game on an app on my phone though (similar) and it's driving me nuts!! Got my sister addicted too! Oh, I will never buy Quelf. We played it with some not-so-close friends and it was just awkward :S

Never heard of it. Looked it up. How did it get awkward? lol

The game is basically "do this" and "do that". We didn't know each other well enough that it was funny to "hop on one leg while singing the anthem" so no-one wanted to do anything embarrassing. It's funny NOW of course but... ugh :S

Have you ever heard of moods?

I played this many years ago with some step cousins shortly after my mother married into the family.

You basically have to roll a dice in the little cup and then you say a sentence in the particular mood of the one that matches the number you rolled.

Then everyone guesses what mood you were saying it in.

We were sitting around laughing about something when all of the sudden one cousin goes 'I'm sweating like a pig' and we all just kind of went silent like 'awkwaaard' then she stops and goes 'no that was my turn you have to guess now'

Been looking at the black friday videos on Youtube. Some crazy things happened like a three man punching fight at a mall in California over some shoes I think. You can watch them on Youtube for the 2012 black friday.

Anybody doing Cyber Monday deals? I bought some Christmas Cards online but it said it was for a black friday deal. I couldn't pass it up. I love Christmas Cards!

My facebook and email exploded with Cyber Monday deals though. I guess if your friends like a facebook page of something now they can promote and post in your newsfeed even if you haven't liked the page yourself.

I did all of my cyber shopping on friday.

Got some fantastic deals.

The Assassin's Creed White Vita bundle was on sale for 199.99 (down from 299.99) but I didn't have the money.

Then at around 5pm, it went down on amazon.com to 179.99! At that point I was like OH COME ON!

I kept watching it for about an hour waiting for it to sell out and then finally borrowed the money from my dad lol.

Also made a purchase of little big planet 2 at toysrus.com.

I wanted it from walmart because it was only $10 but they were all out.

Toysrus had it for $20 which is still a good deal on a $60 game.

Plus the version that I got had the move pack in it which makes the game worth even more.
