Me and my fiance have come up with a situation as we have applied for our K1 visa in mid-September 2012. We sent it to the California Service center which has an estimated 5 months approval time. However, a situation came up in our lives where we would like to have my fiance in Brazil come to the US in January of 2014. Therefore, is there any legit way to extend the fiance visa approval time? We want it to be approved in August of 2013 then we would have plenty of time (6 months) for her to come here to the US and for us to get married.

Well you can delay it a little by taking your time getting the medical done and sending in whatever paperwork you need to for the embassy. Don't stall too long though because the NOA2 can expire and the embassy will need to renew it.

The Embassy can extend the NOA2. Whenever your cases reaches the Embassy, establish good communication with them (through email if possible, to keep record) and present the situation. good.gifI believe they can extend it for a whole year (not so sure if this is a norm, though).
