Married in one country, divorced in another, is that OK?

My fiancee was married in Bolivia and she got divorced in Spain. My visa petition has already been approved and we just received a letter asking for numerous things like her marriage certificate as well as her divorce. She hasn't had her marriage annulled in Bolivia because she doesn't live there anymore. Will the US embassy in Spain care about that? I'd think that if we have already gotten this far (petition approved, I've already told them she got married in Bolivia and divorced in Spain), it shouldn't be a problem right?

Sorry, I should quickly clarify, this is for a K1 visa for entry into the US, she is a resident of Spain and her visa interview will be there but her nationality is Bolivian and she was married in Bolivia.

You need certified documents of all legal marriage stuff, divorce and marriages. You have to be divorced or annulled (completed), they will do a complete background on both of you. many people get married and divorced in different countries and unknown of Bolivia will accept a divorce in another country. .

Thanks, do you know what the definition of 'certified' is? Does that mean it needs to be stamped or notarized?

All government agencies know what a certified document is and usually charge more, see Google for a definition.

She needs the certified divorce decree.....wherever it is obtained is moot.....she needs the divorce decree (not the marriage cert since that is null and voided with the divorce decree).
