K1 Visa Envelope open

Hello,

My fiance just got her visa today from the Tegucigalpa, Honduras embassy. The envelope that they gave her, one corner is opened. It is open, but it clearly looks like the envelope just comes like that. I even asked the guy at the window if it was supposed to be completely sealed and he said that it was fine like that. Anybody else had this happened before? Is it normal for a K1 visa? Thank you!

Many VJ members have commented on the corner being cut, seems standard practice at some embassies.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Agreed, a lot of folks put the snipped-corner envelope into a sealable plastic bag for transit.

My Packet 4 information got pretty torn up during transport from Sydney to Perth, by the time I received it (even though it was a plastic shipping satchel), it was almost completely torn down one side, if I tore it another inch I would have been able to remove the contents, it was that bad!

I immediately taped it back up so it was sealed, then put it inside a durable hard plastic sleeve, where it stayed until POE in LAX.

I briefly explained this to the Officer, that it came like that from Sydney, and that I had not actually read any of the contents, he just smiled and said, "It happens", it was not a problem in the slightest!

So yeah it won't be a problem for you at all!

Good Luck! kicking.gif

Hi. I received the envelope opened from one corner in the embassy of Tegucigalpa. When I got home, I put a tiny bit of glue in that corner and left it to dry a few minutes. Later I put it inside a bigger Manila envelope and plastic bag. I never opened the bag until I got to immigration in airport.
