Answer: Admin / Clerical / Security / General Labor

Now, supposing that working at any factory or plant is under "General Labor", will it have any conflict with section 40 on page 3?

e. An alien who seeks to enter for the purpose of performing skilled or unskilled labor who has not been certified by the

Secretary of Labor; who is a graduate of a foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services who has not passed

the NBME exam or its equivalent; or who is a health care worker seeking to perform such work without a certificate from the

CGFNS or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization.

Note: My purpose to enter is not for performing skilled or unskilled labor but to be with my wife. However, after receiving the green card and permission to work, I do intend to work in any of the mentioned professions.

Many people who come to USA do not end up in the same line of work as they have education for or previous work experiance. I know a few engineers who drive Taxi's and work at Gas stations... now if you can find a title for that then go for it. But if you do not know what you will be doing here then dont put anything. Unless you are skilled with a special trait such as a Doctor or Lawyer and have committed to passing the required examination to become certified. That is the main purpose of this question, to determin if the qualifications abroad are accepted as licensed qualifications in USA. Majority of them are not.

actually you shouldn't leave anything blank... just put undetermined...because that is exactly what it is.. its undetermined as to where you will work and in which field until you actually get employment.

Either way, you're seeking to enter the USA to be with your spouse, you're not seeking to enter to work. Working is an extra. And unless you plan on practicing medicine or perform trade work without a certificate, you should be fine. General labour is just that, general and unskilled. They mean unskilled as in you're not a licensed electrician, plumber, fabricator etc...
