TERRORISTS HOPE FOR DEMOCRATIC WIN!

What I'd like to see is either a Republican president and a Democrat-controlled Congress or a Democrat president and a Republican-controlled Congress. Basically, if that happened, nothing would get done. I like that.

The less the federal government intrudes in our life, the better off we all in the United States -- and probably around the world. The more time the president and congress spend bickering with each other, the less chance they have to put into effective more psychotic laws and enforce them.

The problem with the current situation is that there's a Republican president and a Republican-controlled Congress. While there is opposition, most of what is wanted goes through the House of Representatives and the Senate and onto President Bush (who, by the way, has never vetoed a bill).

I have always voted Republican, although I consider myself more of a Libertarian. Unfortunately, the Libertarian party is a little extreme in some of its views and voting for it is -- more or less -- a waste of a vote since the U.S. is, for all intents and purposes, a two-party system.

I'm not too fond of either Republican or Democratic contenders for the presidency in 2008. None of them seem like they'd be a good fit. Oh well. So long as Hillary Clinton doesn't become president, I'll be happy. ;)

Things could get done, but it requires bipartisanship...something we've seemed to have lost since the Rebublicans have been in power.

I think it's something we seem to have lost during the Clinton years when Democrats decided that national security wasn't important anymore.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Darnit! I was afraid that would be a little over your head. Democrats=Low priority on national security. Republicans=High priority on national security. Hopefully that helps clarify one major difference among many between the two parties.
