Administrative Review

My husband had his interview this morning. He was given a paper that says "consular section notice" at the top and states the case needs to go through further administrative review. It gives us a website to check status. It does not state anywhere on the paper that it is a 221g and it is not asking for further information. The embassy gave him back all originals and kept his passport since he is not traveling soon. The CO stated that all paperwork appears to be in order. In your opinion, is this normal AP for background/security checks?

Sounds normal. From what I know, most Egyptian males do go through some form of AP. The fact that they kept his passport is a good thing. They wouldn't have kept his passport if they did not intend to issue a visa.

yea it could take as little as a week and long as a year. try your best to be patient and hope for the best.

It appears as though about 66% of Egyptians go through AP. Some people say 99%
