I like your attitude Sir.

I dream of a future where the family based immigration procedure will be based solely on forms and evidences submitted and removing the idiotic personal human elements from the equation.

Problem is that 1,000's of people take advantage of the Fiance Visa process, trying to come to the U.S. on trumped up "loving relationships". That leaves a bad taste in USCIS' mouth. The result is that we, who have real and meaningful love for one another, are subject to proving our intent. In other words, guilty until proven innocent. I did notice in a post some time ago where the USCIS sent a message to the embassies to take it easy with the personal inquisition at the interview stage. Can't seem to find that post now, but it was an interesting read.

USCIS to Posts

When my Fiancee petition was denied, I discussed this with the Embassy and they basically told me to go pound sand.

So here's my take. Yes there are fraudulents stuff going on all the time. This is why the Consular Officers should do a good and through job. The one that interviewed my Fiancee was Lazy and couldn't be bothered to go beyond the call of duty. If my petition was fraudulent and they have proof they should charge me with a felony.

If they can't do the job then close the Embassy or hire qualified staff that can actually sift through the wheat to get the chaff. I'm still upset that my petition was denied for unjust cause and calously at that and I refuse to accept the usual "too much fraud in Lagos BS". Unless they had concrete proof that I entered into a sham marraige, Collin Powel told them to issue the visa or at the very least give me an opportunity to address the concern. 9 months of time, resources and hope was dashed in 10 minutes of an interview by as you say a total stranger. I woudl liek to hope that we remove that potential by using technology of some sorts. We can send a robot to roam Mars, surely we can configure systems to ensure validity of a relationship instead of human element that can be faulted.
