Interview held on 11/13/12 @ the SFO building didn't resolve on the first time Adjudicator tell us she has to review our case with her supervisor our attorney then ask her about the RFE document and she say she wasn't expecting to ask for it since when she perform all those questions she did felt I was being honest and through but again they will need to review it, after a week of our interview this past 11/19/12 USCIS approved to my wife her I-130 but my I-485 still on the testing and interview step (according to the USCIS web site) do anyone knows how long it will take for USCIS in gave a response, also if they approve me do I need/have to leave the country? According to my attorney I will not have to leave the country in the case they approve us but I've been reading here and others forums that's not a choice once approved it's imperative to leave and wait in the Country of origin in order to wait for the visa/gc package also according to the Adjudicator she told me in once I got the approval they will issue me a conditional GC for 2 years.please can you share with us your experience about this lengthy and killer process.

Once approved, you stay in the country until you receive your green card. This is completely wrong to leave the country between the approval and the green card in hand! I think you read confusing things.

First, you are already in the US, so there's no visa process. A visa is to enter a country. I guess you read about fiance or visa processes, but this is not your case.

Second, you filed to adjust your status to permanent resident (not sure what was your status in the US before you applied?). So, now that you got the interview, you need to stay in the US and wait until the IO makes her decision. If it's approved, you wait patiently for the green card to come in the mail. Once you have it, you can work and travel freely (keeping always your GC with you). :)
