O'Reilly is correct: the traditional America is gone for good. It will never come back. The America of dreams ended probably in the late 1950s, early 1960s. America was the standard of the world in everything. The US dollar was worth 2 to 3 times what it is worth now. Our cars were huge, gas was 10 cents a gallon, we could by everything we wanted in our supermarkets, whereas people in Europe had barely enough to eat, while those behind the iron curtain couldn't get much of anything.

Dad's income was enough to fulfill the American dream: buy a house, a new car every few years, and mom could be at home in her fabulous kitchen and cook yummi meals. And still there was money enough for a vacation, money for college, and money to put away for a rainy day. No more.

The term illegal immigration didn't really exist. The overwhelming majority of Americans were white, and shared common interests. Gays, Lesbians, child molesters, abortions, sodomy, smoking pot, drive-by shooting, gang banger . . . all things that were not part of the vocabulary, nor did we have school with chain link fences and gun controls.

The United States was the land of dreams for everyone on the planet. That's not the case anymore. This traditional America is long gone, and it will never come back.
