My Wife had an interview today at Islamabad, Pakistan today. The Interview was normal and she was asked just general questions (about 6-7)and asked her for wedding photos.

After seeing the photo, that is when things got complicated when they noticed my height is shorter than my wife.

The CO asked my wife, "Why did you marry him. You guys aren't perfect match?" To this, my wife gave him an answer that was Honest and that shut him off.

He asked my wife to wait for 10 mins. They went to the photos again, ALL 100 OF THEM and dicussed with the other guy who was translator. Finally he un-muted the speakers and Told my wife, Congrats, your visa will arrive in 10-15 business day.

I understand this is their job to make sure, but i felt that was a discrimination to ask such a question. Color, height or religion shouldn't matter, what matters the most is that we are married couple

I can understand what you are saying. My husband had his interview back in Sept and it was sent back to the US for additional review. My issue was our age difference and the interviewer as well just reviewed the photos.

When I wrote to the CO and inquired as to why there was not a visa issued on this day, they just replied your husband was given the reason. After pressing for an answer, I was told he didn;t speak convincingly of our realtionship. We were like what? IN 10 minutes you can make this determnation? We even submitted phone records, emails and IM's chats for two years.

congrats to you and your wife. what matter most is that your wife got the visa. I know they shouldnt ask these types of questions, but some time it is a red flag, but no worries, you have the visa.

have a great POE and great life now that you both can be together.

Does your wife has traveling histpry on her passport? Also is it both of your first marriage?

My wife never traveled and its our first marriage. I also had a joint sponsor but no issue was encountered.

what a releif to know that some people are still getting there visa without AP... it would be nice to hear about a MALE getting a visa without AP.... anyways I hope to hear of that soon.

Congratulations to you and your wife and This also goes to show it does not really help for the USC to be present for the interview. Best thing to do is review the questions that have been asked so you are not blindsided by a questions and answer incorrectly due to being nervious.
