Three options:

- she applies for a tourist visa (slim chances)

- they meet in a third country- if he cannot travel a long time to the Philippines, maybe a carribiean island that he could take a ship to, or Mexico?

- They wait until he is better.

Hi AdamanLulu,

Since they had no chance to meet each other in person especially now that her bf is in bad shape, she cannot lodge any other kind of US visas aside from US Tourist Visa. She cannot apply for k1 Fiancee visa as it is required for them to show a strong evidence of their relationship and they should have at least met each other in person. Well, you can always photoshop it if you want but they're still gonna notice it (just kidding). This might be helpful for your friend so take note of these things:

- She must accomplish the required application form (I believe she can do it online through USCIS)

- She must prepare all the necessary documents such as:

- valid passport

- the specific purpose of visit and must be temporary only

- Must show an evidence of financial capabilities (she must show that she can sustain her stay in the US)

- Must show an evidence of strong tie to the country where she is residing now.

- Evidence that shows the purpose of the trip and the intent to depart the United States, and the arrangements made to cover up the cost of the trip.

They are correct, her chance is slim. However, if she will consider to seek the help of an expert, the success rate of visa approval is higher. I can recommend her to an expert Immigration firm is she wants too. But it depends on where she is residing now.

I hope I am able to help you with this.

All the best!

JohnC.

agreed that they should meet in mexico or canada if she is able to get visa to either country.

even easier, try costa rica. reportedly, philippinos can visit costa rica without a visa, and is close to USA.

Hi AdamandLulu,

I'm glad I am able to help you out with that limited knowledge I have. I also applied for my B1/B2 Tourist visa for my business travels to the US. You can contact me best on my email address I'll PM it to you ok?

I also recommend you to visit this website. www.manilavisa.com. They are really reliable regarding visa services plus they are in partner of the largest immigration firm in Thailand who processes international visas. So they have the best credits.

Not sure who JohnC is, but paying someone money won't help the OP's friend get a B1/B2. They'll still have to follow the same laws everybody else does. Search for what is considered "strong ties" to a country. That is what you have to show, and it will be hard for a poor, single girl to qualify. You can apply, but you will be wasting your money.

If the USC is really sick, she might be able to get a K1 with a waiver of the meeting. But that is very rare. Search the forums to see how realistic it would be. And really, it is best to meet someone before you marry them!

Costa Rica sounds like the winner, but I don't actually know anything about that.
