Hello my fellow VJers;

I am currently at NVC for IR-1 I filed back in Nov 2010.

I have already processed the following:

10-28-2012 Paid AOS fees

10-30-2012 Sent I-864 to NVC

11-02-2-12 Sent DS-3032 form

11-14-2012 DS-3032 Accepted

11-19-2012 IV billed

11-19-2012 IV fee paid online.

As long as I posted the payment today, I think, by tomorrow, payment status will become " PAID"

And here is my question about Civil Documents to be sent together with Form DS-230 part I and part II :

As a petitioner, do I have to send my original Divorce Certificate?. I called NVC customer service and she told me to mail them just the Marriage Certificate, but other petitioners are telling me that I have to send my divorce Certificate to my wife to be submitted to the CO on her interview date....Who is right and who is wrong?

To my understanding, I have to send the following documents with Form DS-230:

1. 4 passport size pictures ( do I have to write case number at the back of each pic?)

2. Copy of the first page of the passport.

3. Both Form DS-230 part I and part II

4. Original Marriage Certificate with translation

5. Original birth certificate with translation

6. Police certificate with translation

7. court certificate with translation

8. Cover letter with IV fee payment reciept.

9. Though the NVC agent told me not to send any pics or any other documents as a proof for the continuation of the marriage, can I send more pics, phone bills, western Union bills and passport entry and exit stamps,,etc,,,???

10. Finally, after mailing all IV documetns, what comes first ? Does Acceptance of AOC comes first or IV civil documents?

I look forward to hear from my fellow VJers.....

God bless you and wish every body all the best and wish your American dream comes true

It doesn't hurt to send a copy of your divorce decree. I had to have it translated into Arabic to get married in Casablanca and a copy stayed with our file.

Hi Teg

Thank u for your response.

According to your timeline, your interview took place on Oct 23, 2012.....I will be grateful if u kindly give me an Idea what additional documents to take on the interview date, furthermore, for how long did the interview last and type of questioned asked during the interview

the first interview they don't ask for evidence and if you bring it they might not even allow you to take it. My husband could only bring the documents they requested medical exam police records and any missing paperwork we did not already submit which were the physical and police records. They send you a letter telling you what you need to bring. From what I have seen very few people get their visa after the first interview and go into an administration review this takes 6 more months after your interview which allows for you and your spouse to gather all the evidence needed to prove you have a bona fide relationship. At our second interview my husband brought pictures, skype, and gmail messages to show that we are in contact every day. I also submitted bank statements showing that my pay is automatically deposited into my bank so they would see that I make over the federal poverty guidelines. We will submit his new physical, tax filing for 2011 and police record next week and our visa journey should be over. the first interview is different from the second so depending on where you are at they require different documents. the interview lasted 30 min to 1 hour and they focused on what I did from morning until bed time. They asked about my family and everything you can imagine about them. They also asked question of my spouse like if he had lots of girlfriends serious or casual and what he planned on doing when he comes to the Unites States. Hope this helps
