We got our interview date for 12/4/06, does anyone know what the best things are

to submit as "proof of relationship"? We have photos, emails, phone bills, plane tickets.

Anything else?

I was thinking about asking both my parents to sign/notary a document

indicating they are aware of the relationship and plans to marry? anyone else

do this ?

Also, the original I-129F asked about proof of "intention to marry" ie.

caterer bills, invitations, however we did not know when the visa might be approved

so we could not provide anything much to proove "intention of marriage"

but despite that the I-129F was approved.

Would they want more "proof of marriage" for the interview

or is the "proof of relationship" all they are looking for at the interview itself?

For a K-1 visa then the proof is an "ongoing relationship". Proof of "marriage" would disqualify you from a K-1.

my mistake, what I meant was, "proof of *intention* to marry", since the K1 it is expected

that you intend to marry within 90 days of entering US, do they want more proof of *intention*

to marry, ie. wedding plans, at the interview

The burden of proof is "on going" relationship.

fwaguy,

What needs to be proved is that the relationship is not for the purpose of evading immigration law to get the alien into the USA and LPR status. No matter how "on going" the relationship might be.

The burden of proof is "on going" relationship.

I am including our Banquet Event Order and ceremony / reception plans in our packet. We have a whole binder of stuff, and there is a non-refundable $4,000.00 deposit on our wedding venue (with a floating date). I am definitely including that as proof that we are planning a full on, 180 people ceremony and reception. I don't think that too many people trying to trick the system would give up that money for a deposit. I don't think you can have "too much"... better this way than not enough.
