When filling out the DS-156 online, the instructions says it must be in English. My Dominican Fiancee, does not understand much English and we are worried if she fills out this online form and clicks continue, a barcode will be generated and the form sent to who knows where.........

Can you practice on these forms until you get it right, or does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this?

Thanks

The forms don't get sent anywhere, you need to print them out. The barcodes are generated based on the information that you type into the form, and it makes scanning it into their system a lot faster and easier. You don't have to worry, I think we probably filled out that form a dozen times before we got it right.

You can fill it out for her safe it and email it to her to print out or print out and take it with you for her to sign when you go back for the interview.

You don't need the packet to get all of the forms ready. If he does not receive the packet 2 weeks before the interview, he can go to the Consulate and pick it up.

Okay thanks.. I will go online and fill out the Visa form for him.. I know he have to wait for the packet to do the medical but, how many days in advance do he have to pay the bank for the visa. The interview date is Dec. 11 I am going to his city on the 8th. I was thinking of filling the forms and bringing them with me on the 8th when I get there and he go to Banco Poplar then like the day before the interview (monday) is that enough time to pay for the visa?

Yes, that is fine you just need to make sure you have both receipts when you go for the interview. Best of luck to you!
