I'm getting a little frustrated with the VSC... As of 2 days ago it's been 6 months since my NOA1, and the website claims 5 months.

US Citizen filing for Spouse form I-130 NOA1 date May 17th.

Called the help line 3 weeks ago, they were working on May 13th and told me to call back the next week.

Called the help line 2 weeks ago, they were working on May 14th and told me to call back the next week.

Called the help line 1 week ago, they were working on May 15th and told me to call back the next week.

Called the help line today, they're working on May 14th.

What's going on with this place? Is everyone on vacation?

Crappy...2 weeks ago they were working on May 14th, and my wife called in. They told her to call back in 2 weeks. That's pretty pathetic. Why would they tell us to keep calling if nothing is getting done? lol.

Vermont has a massive backlog right now. Hang tight and be patient! The I-129F that I filed May 6 there got approved a little over a week ago and that was much longer than the other service centers (at least 1-2 months).

It has to do with changes in the immigration law regarding children who were brought/kept here illegally by parents, etc.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

1. How do you know this?

2. There were no recent changes in the immigration law regarding anything.

They did the same thing to me! For the last 3 weeks they told me May 14th, I called them again last Friday and they told me again May 14th, I said to the man I have called for the last 3 weeks and have heard May 14th, he then asked me if I ever had a service request and I said no, nobody has allowed me. He then said please hold I am transferring you to someone to help you with this. A very nice lady came on after 25 mins and she asked much more details about my husband and myself and said let me check VSC processing times, she cam back and said unfortunately there is a HUGE backlog and they are currently working on May 14th :bonk: , I again explained to her that I have heard that for the last 3 weeks, I also then told her " I have checked your website and gone through 100 receipt numbers from the same day as mine and there are decisions made including receipt numbers AFTER mine, she said oh really please hold. After 5 mins she came back and said Mamm you are correct and there is no reason your petition should still be pending when petitions received after you have a decision. I have put in a service request and you should have a decision within 15 days. :D Now if something doesnt come out of the request I will persue it more but it was so nice to her someone actually respond rather than reading me a script that I read daily on their website. So check receipt numbers on their website verify petitions on your date are receiving decisions especially after your receipt number and call them back and tell them. Our NOA1 date is May 18th,

Good Luck!!!

I don't know why people on this forum pick apart everything.

Deferred action? Dream act? The vast majority of I-130s now being sent to NBC and then local offices?

Dream Act has not passed. Deffered Action is not a change in immigration law, just an executive order stint by Mr. Obama to get Latino votes.

No they're actually processing thesse Deferred Action forms at the Vermont Service Center. Just tried checking status of some random case numbers around mine, and there are TONS of these things being processed.

OMG a libertarian using a HuffPo article. *faints* Who cares?

Try not to be so grumpy. The service centers are being overwhelmed whether you want to accept it or not. Picking apart everything someone writes is not helpful at all.

I hope they have hired additional adjudicators doing just that...

Trying really hard. My wife is waiting, too. 7+ months for ROC at VSC as of today.

Do you think whining will help? If so, I'm ready to start right now.

My date NOA1 date is May 14th and I have had no decision made on my case. My husband called last Thursday and was told they were working on May 14th. Its becoming overbearing especially when you know you are doing things the legal way! And the sad part is this is only the first step. You still have to go through NVC and wait for interview.
