Whether or not circumcision is a good thing is kind of different from the issue of female genital mutilation. Circumcized men can still enjoy sex.

Circumsized women can as well... mutilated women can not. Please note there is a difference.

Yes, but in this case the criminal removed her #######.

"Prosecutors said he used scissors to remove his daughter's ####### in his family's Atlanta-area apartment in 2001. "

Is there really such a thing as a "female circumcision", that does not involve removing the #######? Yikes! :o

Right... in this case and in most others it is a matter of mutilation and not circumcision but there is a difference and some women opt to be circumcised later in life.

There was a thread a while back I posted some reading material concerning the difference and how it's practiced by plastic surgeons here to correct abnormal #######'s in girls and women.

Women who have had it done have described an enhanced sex life after having the procedure.

There are times when a woman's ####### is so big it actually prevents her from being able to climax.

Oh no, after hearing about that I'm having trouble concentrating on my work ...

A few years ago, a coworker left an "adult" triva book at work, being a DJ at the time, there was PLENTY of spare time to read, so I did...here's what I learned:

The longest #######, fully erect...6.5 inches! :o

The smallest #######, fully erect... 0.5 inches! :o

There ya go...my 2c worth...

If a woman's ####### got to the size of 6.5 inches, that sounds like a hormonal issue to me. I've never seen a ####### that large before, and I've definitely seen quite a few of them. In fact, more often than not, the ####### is hidden by a hood and only becomes visible during arousal. I'm not suggesting that's the way it is with all women -- notice I said "more often than not" -- but in most cases that's the way it happens.

Anyway...back to the original discussion: Female circumcision is not only physically harmful to the woman, but psychologically deterimental as well. If this practice had any health benefits (or any benefits at all), it would be practiced in developed countries today.

Female circumcision, however, should not be equated with male circumcision. Only a very small bit of foreskin is removed around the #######. The actual ####### itself is left intact. There have been studies to show that there are some relatively minor health and hygene benefits to having a circumcised #######. As already said in this thread, the instances of penile cancer are reduced (not dramatically though, as that already is a very rare form of cancer) and there's no building up of #######. It's also somewhat easier to apply condoms on a circumcised #######, but that's not really a reason to get it done.

Male circumcision is performed for a number of reasons -- health, religion, family custom, etc. Despite the fact some people feel it is mutilation, there is nothing that points to this. There is no evidence that proves there is any loss of sensation nor any other sexual or erectile difficulties regarding circumcision. Having said that, there is a condition called "retractile #######" in which about 3% of all men have and it can (but doesn't have to) come about from a botched circumcision procedure. "Retractile #######" is when a man's ####### retracts into his body cavity, instead of hanging limp when not erect. When erect, the ####### performs normally. This condition is also seen in men who're overweight, have certain genetic abnormalities, or possibly a number of other ####### problems, none of which relate to circumcision.

The United States has the highest total number of circumcised males in the world, followed, I believe, by Canada. Percentage-wise, however, Israel and other Middle-Eastern countries most likely have more circumcised men.

There is also instances when that hood that covers the ####### is too big and it prevents access to the #######. I believe by definition the removal of a part of this hood is what's considered female circumcision. This should not be confused with FGM which is the removal of the ####### in order to take away her desires.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia (AP) -- An Ethiopian immigrant was convicted Wednesday of the genital mutilation of his 2-year-old daughter and was sentenced to 10 years in prison in what was believed to be the first such criminal case in the United States.

Khalid Adem, 30, was found guilty of aggravated battery and cruelty to children. Prosecutors said he used scissors to remove his daughter's ####### in his family's Atlanta-area apartment in 2001. The child's mother, Fortunate Adem, said she did not discover it until more than a year later.

So has he been on trial for 5 years?

Adem, who had no criminal record, could have been sentenced to up to 40 years in prison. He held his face in his hands and wept loudly after the jury's verdict was read. (Watch how the verdict was reached, delivered -- 1:19 )

During her father's trial, the girl, now 7, clutched a teddy bear as she testified on videotape that her father "cut me on my private part."

Is it really possible for the child to remember what happened when she was 2?

I don't want to make any rash decisions on this case, and yes, they have found him guilty, so under the law, he did it, but I'm curious to know as to what other evidence they might have had.

If she was cut at 2 the mother found it at 3, then why is this little girl 7 and he just went to trial?

They do get erect, you know.....

Can a .5" ####### really be considered a #######? Dude should just go ahead and get a sex change; not much surgery needed. lol

As for the male circumcision thing.....

I'm "mutilated", and very thankful for it.

According to the studies I've read, it DOES decrease sensation somewhat. Ergo, it prolongs sex a little bit as well, I would think. The things that can happen to someone uncircumsized.... Ewww. Foreskin being too tight, ####### being pulled back by the stringy thing on the bottom making an erection unbearable, infections, and everything else.....I'll say again: I am VERY glad that it was done while I was a baby. If it hadn't, and I had to have something done when I was an adult, it would have been much, much worse.

We don't run around naked through the forests any longer, so a protective sleeve over the glans isn't really necessary, is it?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
