Anyone in Manila know the current exchange rate?

I was consider exchanging my USD to PHP at my bank, since they offer that service, before I leave. But, the exchange rate seems low. I'm not sure what a real world rate is in Manila.

Google says 1 USD = 41.1800 PHP

My bank 1 USD = 36.19 PHP

If anyone knows current real world rates as of this month/week in Manila please share.

Thank you!

Ouch! 41.318 Php is what I have. Bank is for sure got sticky fingers, that's almost 12%!

I stopped using transfers from my bank as they were too greedy, I use XOOM now.

Okay, thanks! That's what I needed to know. I will wait and do the exchange when I get to Manila.

And it was Wells Fargo that quoted me the 36.16 rate here in Atlanta. I guess I better make sure I sell all my pisos back in Manila before I leave, haha.

PhP 41.318 (http://www.bsp.gov.ph/) so when you exchange dollar to peso it should be just around that.Sometimes its lesser depends on bank.

Nothing in this world worth having comes easy.

This is what I see from https://www.xoom.com/philippines/fees.

Guaranteed exchange rate* 1 USD = 40.2570 PHP

Where is the 41.318?

The exchange rate from Xoom is almost as good as my BPI Remittance though. The main difference is that I can use XOOM online. That'll save me a trip to the BPI Remittance Center.

XOOM isn't the exchange rate, that is THEIR exchange rate as they take a "taste" also, just not as nasty as the back.

Just use your debit card while in Manila. you can take 10k per transaction charge is 100-300 pesos depending.

hi, there is an exchange place in robinsons place , manila (on the ground floor near the big fountains) that really gives the exact exchange rate..dont exchange in SM they are one of the worst. example if it says 41.80 on the internet sm will just give you 40 flat..

also the one in glorietta, makati near auntie annie's pretzels gives good rate.

Best thing to do is find a money changer in Philippines. Normally they will give best exchange rates. Stay away from airports and banks as their rates are much lower.

Well, I think the rate is so crappy because it is in the US. I'm not sure if I made that clear? I was looking to do the exchange locally in Atlanta, Georgia USA before my trip.

I noticed my bank offered it, so I decided to investigate it. But, I see now it is not a good option!

I'm so excited. My flight is tomorrow! Thanks for the help.

I didn't exchange any currency until in the Phils and like mentioned Robinson's Mall has fair exchange rates as do a few other around Makati.
