Hi

I am in the AOS procedure stage and recently received I-797C for interview call. One of the documents required to be submitted is Form I-693 (Completed Medical Examination Form).

I am confused, do we still have to submit this form if we have already taken the medical tests in Australia prior to the K-1 interview. I also forwarded the DS-3025 along with the submission of form I-485.

If we do have to submit I-693, do the Civil Surgeon re-performs all the test or does he complete the form based on the previous medical tests (medical tests undertaken prior to K-1 interview).

Lastly can you recommend any Civil Surgeons who are reasonably priced and are experienced in completing the form based on the prior medical tests in SF downtown area or near Fremont (East Bay)

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes USCIS looses your medical. In which case YOU have to pay to get a whole new one done, regardless of the date in which you got one in Aus. It's not fair, but it's their rules and we just play the game. You can find a list of civil surgeons on the USCIS website and ring and ask what their fees are. I can't imagine there being too many of them out there. The other thing you could do, if you have time, is to contact USCIS and confirm what they are actually looking for, before seeing a Civil Surgeon.

Good luck.

We visited a US Civil Surgeon and competed the steps in US. He advised if the blood test is over 30 day it needs to be redone? Did a TB test and read the x-rays. MD completed the forms, put it in a packet with a gold seal and no issues. I had put her on my medical so BSBC paid for most of the medical stuff, I paid the USCIS paperwork portion. Don't know if my answer helped or got you more confused.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

You don't have to if your DS-3025 showed that your vaccination record was complete. I created the same topic when I was at the same stage as you (interview letter received) because I was worried too. But the letter is generic and does not apply particularly to AOS from K-1, so do not worry.

I submitted a copy of my DS-3025 in my initial package, got an interview and no question asked about it.

There was a case on VJ where someone got a RFE at the interview, because of the medical. So it can still happen to have a problem with your medical docs at the interview, but I would personally not waste the money to see a CS if I know I did everything correctly (and until the USCIS sends me a RFE).

The interview letter is a blanket one sent to everyone. If you had all the required vaccinations and the DS-3025 was filled out properly, you most likely do not need to get the I-693. People get approved after just sending in a copy of their DS-3025.

It is possible to get an RFE for it at the interview because it will be up to the discretion of the IO. However, I would personally not go ahead and pay to see a civil surgeon before the interview. It is quite possible you will be approved without it. I would wait and see before going through the hassle and expense.

Thanks Guys, I did have a look at the instructions for I-693 and it clearly says K-1 visa holders do not require a medical test if the tests were done with 12 months of I-485 (not sure if its from filing date or interview date).

Well thanks a lot, hope everything works out well at the interview.

Cheers.

Yes, that is clear, but the vaccination record still need to be complete (it's in the instructions, a little after what you read). If that was your case and your DS-3025 shows it, then no worries. :)
