Hi there!

I will be having my CFO seminar tomorrow here in Manila. What time should I be there in order to have a slot for the seminar as I will also be leaving by the end of the week. Are these the only requirements for IR1 and IR2 holder?

1. photocopy of passport

2. photocopy of visa

3. photocopy of data summary page (no need to bring the entire packet with data page in front, right?)

4. copy of marriage cert

5. copy of birth cert? (for minor)

6. copy of divorce decree?

hope you can help me out with this. do i need to bring along other original docs aside from the passport?

Thanks!

CFO required copy of divorce cert (for me, US citizen) and asked my fiance (Filipina) all sorts of information about me and my family. Suggestion is to take what you outlined above and any documents you plan to have with you at your US visa interview...you never know what they will ask for. (It's a ridiculous requirement in my mind and only a revenue generating activity...)

CFO:

ALL exiting required to attend. There have been changes regarding CFO so for sure read through their website.

Update: Please check the schedule of the counseling session before proceeding to CFO because it is country-specific and the slots are limited only to 15 per session (exception: Tuesday & Thursday mornings there are 30 slots). It is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

CFO Online Registration Form: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/pdf/downloadable%20forms/registrationform.pdf Complete this and print a couple copies to bring to the CFO seminar, it will save you time.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR/CEMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together. From USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common requests. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO. If IR/CR-1 copy of the immigrant data summary that is affixed to the "do not open" envelope.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent. (Some are posted on VJ that they were not asked for this, yet others have been asked, so be prepared)

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.

My fiancee did her CFO seminar about a week and a half ago(Nov 9). She is a K1 visa but the seminar is similar for K1 and IR-1/IR-2. She arrived at 6am and there were already over 40 people in line. Thank God not all were for the America Seminar. I would recomend arriving by 5am. It is suggested that you take the same documentation that you used for your embassy interview as they sometimes ask for pictures and other documentation that they do not list on their web site.

Marisal said once inside it was very low stress and lots of helpful information. The CFO staff was helpful and made it a good experience. The days of private contractors holding power over you and intimidating are gone.

Good luck with your travels and Welcome to America!!

In the past CFO has been known to ask for many of the same things that the consulate asked for. Marisal played it safe and took her entire packet of information with her but the staff did not ask for anything extra. She said she actually had a good time there and the one on one interview was like two friends talking.

DO NOT bring your entire visa packet, keep that safe and secure as you don't want anything happening to that. You only need to photo copy the data summary page and bring that.

I thought the same thing (common sense - why carry around something so valuable?), but the flyer we were given with our visa packet lists a number of "Registration Requirements", including...

"4. Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary"

That sheet of paper is attached with two staples to the visa packet, so it seems like it is coming along for the ride.

Just take it some place that has a copy machine make a couple copies then put the packet away someplace very safe.

We brought the original along anyways, but as it turned out, they only glanced at the summary page, and only required copies of our passports, birth certificates, and our marriage contract.

As for arrival time, the advice earlier in this thread to arrive early is good - we arrived at about 7:30am, and it seemed like the morning session was just about full at that time.

You are a K-1'er, so you don't need the immigrant data summary.

K-1 visa doesn't have one, so ignore that.

Hi!

Did you end up bringing the IV packet? I will be attending this Thursday and I really don't have plans of bringing it but the site says "Original and Photocopy of the immigrant data summary page". Although in my case, the summary page is not stapled to the packet. Is it OK for me to slip it out of the packet? I just don't want to mess up the packet really. I just made a small opening, enough for me to get my passport and that's it.

Thanks!
