Hi. My wife and I will be having our interview in one week and we're a bit scared we might not be preparing ourselves adequately. We have photos of our life together. We've been married for 5 years and we we've been together for 8. However our wedding was extremely modest (only 30 people) and was held in my parents' backyard. Neither of us have wedding rings because.... well... we just both don't care much for wearing a ring.

Furthermore, we've been living together for years and are still living together currently, but our situation is a no-contact sublet. so we don't really have any hard evidence of showing that we live together.

We have a joint bank account overseas, but the bank account here in the US is only in my name (I'm the citizen). We've tried to add my wife to the account, but it's a kind of catch 22. To add her to the account she has to show proof of residency in the US; that could be a utility bill in her name; however since I'm the one with the bank account and credit card all utilities are in my name. Another option is to get her a NY state ID. However, they also require proof of residency like a utility bill. So we really don't understand how to penetrate that closed loop.

We're just wondering how crucial those things might be.

Also, we're very curious to know what happens if they for some reason aren't convinced. Would the USCIS then require that we provide further proof of our marriage and that we are living together, etc? or will our petition be denied and case closed?

Any experienced advice on this will be much appreciated. Thank you!
