Hi All,

My husband is in the process of filing for my immigration and we've got to the AOS / Packet IV stage. We've made the payments for both and the status reflects as "PAID" too. The problem now is that, we haven't received any instructions from the NVC other than the bar-coded sheets.

Should we wait for them to send us anything or just send out both the packages?

From what I've understood, following are the items that need to be included;

AOS PACKAGE

- Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

- Cover letter (optional)

- Completed, signed, and dated I-864 form by petitioner

- Tax information* of petitioner (either just the last year OR the last 3 years)

- Employment letter of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

- Pay stub(s) of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

- Tax return transcripts ordered from IRS (preferred by NVC and of most consulates/embassies) RECOMMENDED

OR

- Tax returns (1040) and W2s and any other schedules (if applicable

PACKET IV

- Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

- Completed, signed, and dated DS-230 form by beneficiary (do NOT sign or date part 2; this is done at the interview) [note: if doing online forms (DS-260), the DS-230 is obviously not needed]

- Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary (on the back, write: beneficiary's full name, date of birth, and case number)

- Copy of bio-data page of beneficiary's unexpired passport

- Original or Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

- Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

- Original police certificate(s)

Please let me know if I've missed out on anything and what would be the next steps that we'd need to follow. Also, how much longer is the whole process gonna take from here on.

Thanks for hearing me out!

You will not receive anything specific from NVC, once payment showed as paid, print out payment receipt and bar code sheet, it have all the instructions.

go ahead and send AOS and Packet-4 to NVC.

Good Luck.

hello there: Do not wait for any correspondence from the NVC, you can see in the portal payment a link that says:" AOS Processing Instructions" if you click there, it will take you to the instructions on how to file the I-864 form. I would include a copy of evidence of Citizenship (birth certificate, passport, etc) Remember, all this documents are simple photocopies. I did not send copies of my tax returns since, all the information is already contained in the tax transcripts and, I did no have any problems.

As far as the IV packet goes:

Your packet looks perfect. I would, for good measure, send in a copy of the evidence of citizenship of petitioner. you will need more pictures later on, for the lab work and the Medical exam done before the interview

You are looking good, Best of Luck on your Journey!

NVC will take forebver to send you forms by snail mail just just follow that link on the payment portal and print out the DS 230 and AOS forms. I sent both packages in one envelop, just makes sure they each have their cover pages from the payment portal so it can got o the different windows/office.

All things being equal, your case should be closed in one to two weeks after they review your file and then your interview date will depnd on your case load at your embassy.

Download the barcoded cover sheets and send the two packages separately. There is no need to wait for instructions. Use these. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

remember - most members here at VJ are interested in 'going fast' and follow LingChe in the wiki for the steps and indicators.

If you are truly waiting on NVC to 'send you instructions' - well, you'll get them - but usually anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months after you have paid something.

Please, instead of 'waiting on NVC', follow the instructions , steps and indicators in the LingChe entry in the wiki.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
