Tolerate racism? Are you serious? Maybe someone should have told Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall, Martin Luther King Jr. or one of the many other civil rights leaders of our time to have been more tolerant towards racism.

That's ####### and you know it.

And while they are talking to these people in the grave, they should tell them how hilarious it is now to use "ghetto" to describe unpleasant things. They'll be so pleased how far we've taken their work towards tolerance and anti-racism.

along with hearing the N word bandied about between people of color like it's a badge of honor

eta: anyways, i'm outta here for the evening. you ladies (and gupt) have a good evening.

tommorrow's agenda - vote republican straight ticket and get back on the top of jenn's list :P

Did you actually read what I said??????? I said the actual schools are what is offensive.

2. It implies that Arabs are terrorists or that Islamic schools teach terrorism.

... if you don't think there are some schools and mosques sending out extremist messages.... I really don't know what to say.

VP,

Do you or do you not think that some Islamic schools send out extremist messages and breed terrorists?

By the way, I have seen this first hand in Jordan. Do all Jordanians feel that way? Hell no. Do they exist?

If all Arabs were like JP, the world would be a much better place.

As for all racism being unacceptable -- there was a discussion a while back about

"reverse racism" and someone argued quite convincingly that black on white racism

was acceptable because blacks aren't in the positions of power where their racism

can actually have as strong an impact (if any) on that group as a whole, even if it

was anywhere near as widespread a problem.

that's exactly right, there is no such thing as reverse racism. Minority groups can engage in stereotyping and prejudice, but racism is believing one's race is superior to another, and believing you have the right to dominate the race(s) you deem inferior. A race of people who do not have power to dominate another, cannot be racist.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

Why are you calling yourself Leila and wear traditional arab clothing? Your in America hun ;):star:

First of all I don't spell my name that way it's Layla and I like it. I used to have a doll named Layla long before I even knew what an Arab was.... got it from a song :P

I wear "arab clothes" because it's hard to find clothes that cover anything in America.

If you knew anything you would know that Leila and Layla are the same, when its being translated into english people will use different letters.

I didn't make the comment about this being America and to speak english, YOU DID. If you are so stuck on that idea then take your own advice and dress, act, speak like an Ameican.

Agreed, peezey... about the fact that it's not reverse, sideways, or backwards...it's just plain ol racism. ;) But I disagree because minorities CAN be racist afaic

Oh, and to add my .02...it is anyone's right in a America to be a racist...I've seen that thrown around here...and yes, it is a right....doesn't MAKE it right, but you get my drift.

And lastly...

Wow ...I'd add more but my jaw is hanging down so much it is interfering with the keyboard.

Gupt- didn't you promise Ewok to behave yourself in this forum last week?

Charles- Are you being deliberate or accidental in your desire to add fuel to the fire esp in this forum?

VP- Sweetie, I think you need to stop arguing with JP and listen to what she has to teach you about racism, ignorance, and tolerance. (L)

Apologies to Rahma for participating in the highjackng of this thread. What a wonderful educational thread this could have been. (F)
