Millions of questions. Just got my NOA2

Alright. Questions. Questions. Questions.

First, the Embassy Info for Montreal on here says that they are picky about using their forms. But how can that be possible if they want their forms done online and printed out? Will we be okay with just doing all the forms now and printing them. Is there something special about the forms they send.

We are having a HECK of a time getting a Canada-wide police certificate for Craig. The woman at the Thunder Bay RCMP post told Craig that she needed to see the checklist requesting the certificate before she could do anything. BLAH. I'd really like to be able to get everything done before Packet 3 ever shows up. You think we should just try the local Thunder Bay Police Dept. and have them run a Canada-wide check without the checklist? Or do you think if he takes a copy of our NOA2 it'll work?

Craig's immunization records, does he just need those for the medical? Or does he need to bring them to the interview. He has one original copy, and if we just needed it for the medical, that should work, but if it needs to go to the interview too, he'll get more offcial copies.

Danke!

I went through Vancouver so unfortunately I can't help you with Montreal Questions ...

I didn't need to show a reason why I needed the Canada wide check at the RCMP station in Langley BC ... So you could try the local police since the lady at the RCMP probably won't change her mind ...

The immunization records were only required for the medical and not for the interview in Vancouver ... I am sure people who went through Montreal could give you better advice.

Make sure he keeps a copy of the record as well as asks for a copy the doctor prepares at the medical so he can use it when it comes to doing AOS down here in the US ... That seems to be the biggest pain in regards to getting the info together for AOS ...

I have my "immunization record" book, which I just showed at my medical appointment. I'm assuming the Dr. will write on some form he has that will be part of my medical package, that I've had the immunizations. I'm not going to bring that little booklet to the Consulate (Vancouver). I AM going to ask for a copy of whatever form he fills out for my immunization, because I want to take that to another Dr. while in the US, to have them transfer it onto the other form for my AOS. So that's important!

In Saskatoon, I went to the RCMP to get the CPIC done. They advised, that as a city, and not rural resident, they won't do this task for me, that I have to go to Saskatoon City Police Service. I went there, just told them what I wanted it for, didn't show them a letter or anything, and they provided 5 original copies of a letter saying they've done it, and it's clear. I wasn't going to get "into" it with the RCMP about some orange paper and the Consulate etc. etc.

In Canada, with CPIC, there is no reason why you can't go to the local Police and have it done. They're using access to the same computer system.

Hope this helps. Congratulations on the NOA2!!

Congrats on the NOA2!

The RCMP office told me the same thing - to wait until I had the letter from the embassy. It only takes them 15 minutes to do the check, so it can be done at any time.

The vaccination record is shown at the Medical - they gave me my originals back, plus a copy of the summary vaccination form the doctor filled out too.

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

04/18/06 - NOA1

08/30/06 - NOA2

I had an envelope from the Dr in Vancouver that contained details about my Immunization record. When the lady at the Vancouver Consulate was checking to make sure all of my documents were in order she immediately handed that envelope back and said it wasn't needed.

Hang onto that Immunization record ... It will save you alot of money when it comes time to apply for AOS ... I was able to take the one I got from the Dr in Vancouver and get it transfered over to the suppliment form ...

I'm not adjusting. I went back for the CR-1 a couple of weeks after getting the K-3. ;) (Sorry I still haven't posted a review... Super-busy with work lately.)

Just as an aside, the Dr in Vancouver was kind enough to give me two copies of my medical for the price of one.
