My Fiancé was approved on the Nov. 7/2012 she did not get any paper work from the Embassy in Bogota Colombia. They told her everything will be mailed by courier service to Cali. Her flight is booked on Nov. 30/2012. Today is Nov. 18/2012 no Passport with Visa, no secret brown Envelope. Any idea how long it takes from Bogota to Cali.

You can call DOS (202-663-1225 option 1 then 0) they can tell you when the visa went to print, and when it was issued. Hopefully they are able to give you some good news.

Hard to say, you should consider contacting the embassy/consulate, or DoS as previously mentioned. All of the embassies/consulates are a bit different in this regard. In our case, it took about a week for my then-fiancee (and son) to receive their passports, with visa inserted, from Guangzhou to their city, transit distance of ~1,900 km.

The general forum recommendation is to NOT make any reservations or plans until the passport, with the visa inserted, is in your hands.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Yes you can track the progress through the DHL website if you registered and they have the courier information. My wife's visa was approved on the 13th and I checked with DHL and it's in Cali as of Saturday.

Great news, her visa was waiting at DHS office in Cali. She wrongly assumed the Embassy would send her an E. Mail. When I signed into the Embassy website I saw the status and she picked up her visa on Nov.19/2012 People on VJ are the best.
